Money and best place to sell gear

Post » Thu Dec 08, 2011 10:21 pm

Whats the best place to sell copious amounts of gear that you've stolen/accumulated through many a dungeon etc.

I have tonnes of garnets and emeralds/weapons that I can't disenchant, high value items like the falmer eyes. etc.

All the traders seem to have low cash when I go to sell, I sell like 3 items and can't move the rest then I get more in the meantime and the cycle continues...

Right now I hit up the blacksmiths @ whiterun then I go to solitude and use Gulum-ei and then I kinda just... accumulate more gear.

Click the wait button for 24 hours twice, basically wait out 48 hours total and there money resets.

I dont think fast travel does it, though I havent experimented with it.

When ever i have enchanted a lot of gear or gone through a few dungeons i usually follow this path for selling stuff:
I use Fast Travel for this-
Whiterun
- Blacksmith outside and inside (usually around 1000g each)
- Run down to the general goods vendor to sell of Bones/Jewels (750g)

Solitude
- Blacksmith up top (1000g)
- Armor/Arrow bloke (750-1000g)
- Clothing shop Threads i think (750g)
- Bits and Pieces, general (1000g)

Malkarath
- Blacksmith above water (1000g)
- General goods near entrance (750g)

If you still have items then go to Riften, the Stall Vendors there have lots of cash and usually buy anything left over.

Hope this helps

riften's 4 vendors in the middle of the town then into theives to sell of some stolen stuff after seems the best to me you can get 5k~ worth fo stuff sold or more if you buy certain things back eg -> buy all the bsmiths leather and the ores you want.

alternatively find a vendor who is also a skill trainer as you can sell all your crap to them by 5 skills worth of leveling them sell more stuff to get your money you sent on the skill ups back while not idea as long as it's a usefull skill it's basialy as if paid for a skill up in loot instead of gold.

After re-building the Thieves Guild fully and becoming Guild Master, there will be a fence in each major city with 4000 gold to buy your stuff with.

Edit: Although some of them don't seem to work, like the one in Solitude.

The problem I have is that vendors tend to only have between 750 - 1000 gold. I have started collecting items that could sell for over 3000!

Even if I was to put perks into Speech, I'm not sure they would be able to afford what I have to sell :(

Edit: I'll give that a try, Neuts. Fingers crossed.

I like going to the Riverwood Trader. After helping him out he seems to have at least 1000-1500 gp and he sells potions.

Oh, where is this guy in whiterun? I've done the thieves guild main quest line, do I have to do all the random ones too to get this?
