Do you read the books?

I do, but have only read a few. If you do, do you have a favourite book?

I do. So far my favorite would have to be Immortal Blood, which I read back in Oblivion. I haven't read most of the newer books yet so it's possible I'll have a few new favorites among them.

Yes I do, but only those that have some reference to historical events or the like. The story books are a bit "meh" at times.

Some I'll read on the spot when I find them.

Others, I sock away in my home at Whiterun for later perusal.

I did the same in Oblivion, some of them are rather good reading.

My personal favorite is the Black Arrow, because it ends on such a perfectly cheeky line, but does not make sense at all unless you read through the story.

I keep the skill ones to sell but don't cart around the others. I do read some of them that attract my attention if it seems to be about a particular piece of lore I'd like to know about. I chuckle when I see ones such as the Lusty Argonian Maid that have claimed a piece of TES honour but generally ignore them...

I do. I like finding ones I remember from the old games. I usually don't sell them; I put them in the bookshelf in Whiterun.

Ciceros (I think I spelled it right) journal was awesome.

I read every book I come across unless it's part of a series, in which case I'll wait until I've collected as close to all of them as I can tell exist before reading.

I love the books, because it clues me in what I missed in the elder scroll games I didn't play and gives me a history lesson on the world I am living in.

Yes, I read them all. I have read several, more than a few times to understand them.

My favorite book would be "The Mirror". You will find it in the Forsaken Caves. It basically teaches you about blocking tactics, but then has a good little story about a Mom, and two sons. How these two sons met each other is sad. I won't spoil it too much. One of my favorites I should say.

Here is a link to the story if you want to read it outside of the game or interested in reading it.

Some of them... I tend to skip any that are in multiple volumes, unless the whole set is there.

Loved the 'pick-a-path/choose-your-own-adventure' book.
Enjoyed the Yellow Riddle book. Which was, ironcially, not yellow. Need moar riddle books!

I read most of them unless I recognize the title from a previous game. There are some I just overlooked though b/c i wanted to get on with my looting.

I really liked the book that was a 'choose your own adventure' book, I think it was '(someone) and the dragon'. super clever bethesda.

I have yet to read either, and I can remember helping Crassius Curio find an actor for that play in Morrowind.

A few I would recommend reading are:

Light Armor Forging (nothing crazy, but tells a little bit about various light armors are forged, obviously)
A Tragedy in Black (I believe that's the title, could be a bit off. It's a great tale about a young boy who summons a Dremora. Be careful with those summons :) )
Olaf and the Dragon (a tale about a legendary Nord and his battle against Numinex, a very powerful dragon.)
The Alduin/Akatosh Dichotomy (just interesting. Does Alduin exist, does he not? Is he Akatosh? etc)
Alduin is Real (a funny little book written by a barely literate Nord)
An Argonian Account (I need to find more volumes of this, but the one volume I read was pretty interesting)
The Battle of Red Mountain (a TES classic. Tells the tale of Nerevar, Dagoth Ur, and Red Mountain in Morrowind)

and there's many more I can't think of. All the books in this game are very well written and genuinely interesting. Unfortunately I have a backlog of about 30 books I need to read. I keep collecting them and putting them off until later. I need to spend a good hour or 2 going through them all soon.

I read them all mostly for the skill increases. But later when I get a house with shelves, I'll start collecting various series. I love the ones that mention history from previous games in the series and things I actually experienced.

I have to collect pretty much every book I see, I like reading them and a good book is 'The Refugees'. Though my favourite yet is the Lusty Argonian maid Vol 1. Funny [censored]
