Vehicle Mod Idea

Post » Mon Oct 05, 2009 11:27 pm

While there do exist somewhat functional Motorbikes and other wheeled Vechicles, the state of the FO3 roads are really bad and would seem to reduce the usability of any wheeled thing people get running.......So I was thinking, surely horses would be quite logical, afterall dogs exist in FO3s post Apocalyptic America relatively unmutated etc.....why not horses too? As it stands theres loads of them both domesticated and running wild in pony herds all over the USA, surely many would survive?........In another version of Post Apocalyptic America, "The Planet of The Apes" its a perfectly reasonable thing to have, say a Gorilla Soldier riding a horse, wearing Studded Leather Armour and brandishing an unknown design of Assault Rifle.......I think given that the FO3 Engine works so much like Oblivions [or is essentiallythe same or whatever...] that the Horses that worked so well there would be as usefull in Fallout too......I suppose that the porting of models and other elements from earlier games to newer is somewhat difficult/legally forbidden etc but as I recall there were many user made Horsies too..........

Well, let's try this:
I've played Fallout, Fallout 2, Fallout: Tactics and Fallout 3 and yet I've never seen a horse (nor a cat for that matter).
Nor have I've seen cows - but those are just tall tales anyway, everybody knows there's no such thing as a one-headed brahmin.

Let's face it - horses don't seem to survive well in the universe of Fallout. Might have to do with all those nasty critters running around eating anything they come across. Well, that and those nukes that destroyed earth pretty much...

Also, Bethesda isn't a big fan of sharing content between games. Including from Oblivion to Fallout 3.

Heh, should I take it you don't go for the idea?.............well I guess in the face of such devastating lore players should just keep on teleporting about with their silicon briasted double d cup lycra clad avatars and companions while listening to Death metal radio mods then.......sorry to have brought up Equines.

Nobody would realy go for the idea as you'd have to make animations and everything. Which is a bit ot hard for most.

Hiya there,

I'm going to say this even though, I'll probably get broadsided by the hardcoe Fallout Lore family, But I feel if you want horses then you should go for it. Someone said here awhile back Mod what you want to see, not what everyone around you wants as there's always going to be those that it;s not right. It doesn't fit in.

You will need to make the model from scratch as such. you can't bring it in from Oblivion, it would make it easier though.

Anyways good luck with your mod idea!

I just think that as a logical "Vechicle" in any post Apocalyptic versions/visions of the USA, horses fit pretty well......The Postman, The Planet of the Apes, Logans Run, etc etc............I was merely suggesting horsies as being both functional and easily explained in the gameworld........a la dogs in FO3, hoping some modder might consider it. I can't make mods or anything and am actually happy enough with my GTS Highwayman.

Please don't start being a little troll just because I give you an opinion based on lore.
You brought up the point that you think horses should be thriving in Fallouts world, I simply told you that none of the games so far have even mentioned horses existent in the current timeline(s). It's called free information, not me dictating my opinion upon you.

Seriously Pal what is your malfunction? I simply suggest Horses, you get snippy unhelpful and rather nasty [in a lore based fashion] at the drop of a hat......and now here you are again , in the same vein and yet somehow I am a troll?.........

EDIT
You know, I have no interest in a mini flame exchange....If the concept appals you and/or offends you so much, just ignore it.......it was just an idea.......most likely nobody will ever introduce any horses.
