Dragons fly to much

Post » Thu Dec 08, 2011 9:15 pm

Whenever I encounter a dragon they always fly in circles for like 20 minutes. And being a melee character I cant attack it while its up there so I usually just ignore them. Is there anyway I can make them come down?

I am getting so annoyed at this. I have only seen like 3 dragons so far and they circle around so far out I can't see them for awhile and I get bored and leave and I want to upgrade my shouts already.

Dragonrend shout, it's a bit far in the main quest, but it is really worth it. I had the same problem being pure warrior but this shout really helps

Do you guys notice that they will not attack you unless you attack them. I have seen the Dragons head turn as if it spotted me, however..I would test it out and I would just do my normal thing. I would hang around for awhile before It would vanish. They will however attack random NPC or wildlife and if your close enough, you will be targeted.

Try it out next time a Dragon flys overhead. Just keep doing what your doing. It will leave you.

Yeah, I've had this happen. Tried arrows, but my aim svcks. Tried jumping up and down, casting candlelight, throwing fireballs.... I haven't yet found a good way to get their attention...
Sometimes they just plop on down right in front of me, though.

1 - Climb on the nearest height (mountain, roof, etc)
2- Use a bow or spells, at least to get his attention, and shouts if he comes close. (Who cares if it's not your character's style...it's the only thing to do and he should know that as much as you)
3- ??????
4- Profit (AKA beat the crap out of it with an axe. Axes are fun)

Always get things done in reasonable time, unless the dragon just runs away while you climb. Also, I suggest having a ranged henchman, like an archer or, even better, a mage. They don't get in the way during fights and they're good to bring those funny little lizards down.

A flying creature flies too much.

It uses it's strength against you, and you need to adapt. Become a horker and hide underwater.

Pretty sure that's in a forthcoming DLC, in which people from the thieves guild happen to be were-horkers.

Well, that's part of their strenght so they're going to use it. I chased after one after it buzzed me outside of Riften; found his little hideout and we kicked in the front door. The most satisfying part was when he crashed and slid past me....and then we finished him. It can be done...sometimes you have to chase them.

ive spent 40 some odd arrows trying to hit the damn dragons...eventually they fly away until they dissapear and i cant find them.

if they were a bit easier to hit with a arrow maybe....i dont claim to be the best shot but im at least competent in shooting in fallout games, cant hit the dragon for the life of me.

A flying creature flying to keep away from a melee fighter..

Do you expect them to roll on their backs and die for you or something?

Only annoying thing with their flying is that they will fly around, land on a building/area, fly around, then land back on the exact same building/area they were just at.
