IMPORTANT: I i/we demand ANSWERS, supporting Duke

Post » Fri Dec 09, 2011 4:54 am

I've been a fan of this game from the start. And it hurts seeing it is to be so incredibly ignored.

Crytek, i am seriously dissapointed. As Duke said, i WILL steer clear of your games in the future if we won't get any answers. If you give us answers. I'll make sure i read it. And support you guys if need be. Because the game you made was awesome! But the support afterward was a discrace to the gaming industry itself. Deadline or not, this thing should've been GOOD, you had a good 4 months(?) to provide a fix. Or to AT LEAST provide answers.

You stated in the last locked thread, that there was more activity than 4 months which had none, i'd like to know what activities were performed when. So that we can see how much you actually did.

A CALLOUT TO FORUM VISITORS: If you want answers to these questions:

Will there be a fix for the issues?

If yes: When?

Will the maps be merged? (this is not a fix, this is a change to the game itself)

If so, then i suggest you do the following:
Make your own thread but keep it to 1! Stating that you want answers and why. This isn't spam, for we only make 1 thread at a time, and only viewing our individual opinions.

P.S. This thread is a support to DukeMagnems' campaign for answers, i just want to do this more effectively, and make sure Cry_Tom won't delete/lock all those threads. If he will, then i will reput it in. I've had enough of the ignorance of the developers. Games aren't supposed to take a turn for the worse like this. Especially Crysis 2

If crytek is done supporting this game then at least let us know so we can move on.

I think they are pretty much done supporting Crysis 2. They are now focusing on their upcoming titles, the Homefront sequel, Ryse and so on. That's my guess.
And Time Splitters 4 I hope :)

Although it is seeming highly possible that they are done supporting this game, it would be nice if they actually let the community know one way or another. Then at least we would know where we stand.

Should it turn out that this is actually the case, then it is up to each person whether or not they continue to support crytek. I personally will not be purchasing another title that is linked to crytek on principle that if anything is wrong with it, i know the support will be few and far between. The damage has now been done, and it will take alot on cryteks part to rectify this.

Yeah, that's what I'm saying. If they're done supporting it then come out and say so LIKE A MAN when your customers have questions. That's what these forums are for, and so far I've seen NO support for anything since April. Acknowledging the problem is not giving anyone an answer.

I challenge Cry_Tom to show me where Crytek has offered any support here on this forum since April. In my last thread he said I overlooked 4 months of support... well where is it? Is thanking someone for informing you of an issue really support? Is saying we were able to recreate the issue really support? Is posting that you with you had more hands after a month of complaints really support? ONE of those things is a piss poor attempt at support, but it still isn't support.

I'll tell you what happened, it doesn't take a genius to deduce this, either. Crysis 2 wasn't the financial success Crytek needed it to be. It was going up against Homefront and with the crowded FPS market, one game had to fail for the other to be truly a success. Neither one really failed. They both ended up selling enough to make money but not enough to invest more money into. DLC came out because the DLC was already done, it was just icing on the cake for a company that was about to cut and run, sticking consumers with an unsupported, buggy game and a handful of maps they can't play.

I think we deserve more. We are at least deserving of an explanation from these guys. I don't want to settle for that... I want the game at least patched as sort of a gesture of goodwill so I can have my achievement, 100% it and move on. Probably go buy Crysis... people are saying it's awesome. But the least I will settle for is an answer... and I can tell you that unless it's a damn good one, Crytek won't get any more of my $$.

I think the game had some support up until late June/July. I remember there being some minor weapon tweaks and playlist changes around that period of time. Also the last DLC came out around the end of July if I am not mistaken and all the different game modes got condensed/removed (anyone remember the public lobbies for "Pro" and "Classic"?). After that, sometime before July ended and halfway through August I started noticing a shift in the forums and the game itself. It's like there was just silence from mods (at least in the Xbox forums) and players stopped filling the DLC lobbies. Then a month or less later the same started happening to the regular playlists. There are still enough players to fill a lobby in TIA and Crashsite but IA is not getting the same treatment. And we don't hear anything valuable from mods anymore.

For me personally it's sad. I enjoy Epic's games. And I can compare Crytek to Epic because both are companies that make industry leading cutting edge engines and both licence and make games with their own engines. Yet Epic fully supports their games and community. Yet my favorite franchise, Crysis, doesn't get supported anything close to those other games I may enjoy, but not as much as I enjoy Crysis. But unlike Crytek, Epic has only one studio and focuses mostly on one franchise with a very serious publisher. This may be were my comparison is rendered null.
