Lol at Crytek over Dedication malarkey.

Post » Thu Dec 08, 2011 7:42 pm

I'm in support of Duke for the Dedication Achievement, along with many others. It just makes me laugh that the one person who is trying to help the community is getting threatened for disrupting the community. It makes me lol at how they're making him out to be a villain, when he's trying to help.

Someone posted that a 50MB patch could fix it. Myself, I can download a 50MB patch on my xbox or computer in about 2 minutes tops. Oh my...what a disruption!! =0

Bleck at Crytek. Logic would denote that the company that releases a game should support it. But I guess business is simply that in the end. Just business. You have to go to a KFC or Skechers for good customer support nowadays. And even at KFC if they screw up on your order, they'll be sure to fix your order.

KFC> Crytek. That's what I'm seeing... that's just wild. And lol-worthy.

Where's Lulzsec when you need them? I'm sure they could help release a patch.

Oh well, wait 'til this spreads to places like Kotaku and other famous gaming websites, it'd be funny to see this on Crytek's wikipedia page.

And by the way, stop ignoring us, obviously you can see Duke's posts, so I'm sure you can see the others.

We're not idiots after all.

Or maybe we are, cause we bought your product. Derp.

Thanks for the help.

I agree that we should also get the DLC maps added to the playlist and personally, I think they need to make the DLC free or half off at this point. I'm tired of people saying post your Gamertag and we'll set up DLC matches. It's crap. If I pay $10 for some maps I need to get to use the damn things. Period. I shouldn't have to come to a forum and try to come up with a schedule of when I can play what. I bought it and all I should have to do is play it. I would understand if I were trying to play DLC on a game that's 2 years old and has since seen a sequel, but I JUST bought the last DLC in late July. I've had maybe 5 games on it.

Maybe buying Crysis should get you access to the map packs also. That way people checking it out for the first time would have an incentive to buy Crysis 2 since they already have access to the DLC, they'd just need to go buy the game to run it. Then the community would grow a little bit and we'd get more games on the maps we paid extra for. The way it was done seems like a cash grab and nothing more, though.

This stuff really needs to be addressed once and for all, DAMMIT!

lets just be happy that they didnt add achievements to them.then we would be really fuked.i never bought them but i was affected by the tooled up glitch and now im 2 weeks past dedication.this game is fuked all the way.however being that i had to do tooled up twice and now im playing a couple matches every day at least im getting my money worth out of a game i wouldnt have played for multi anyway.i also really liked crysis1 though.its to bad that they dont know how to build loyalty, black ops may have been patched 13 or 14 times but at least they are supporting their game.

I'm all for these threads as long as they don't become ignorant and offensive. I love the game and some answers as to why they can't fix somethings would be nice.

About the original post. A 50 MB patch sounds like nothing but there are limitations to storage and size of patches for 360 games. I heard a while back developers have 4 MB of space reserved by Microsoft to use for patches over the course of the games lifespan. Not sure if it's true but every game I own has not exceeded that 4 MB size. The only exception has been Black Ops with the last map pack that was released the game received an update of 19 MB upon start up of game after the last DLC went live. Which I was VERY surprised at how big that update was. But with how much money and popularity that franchise has given Xbox it's no big surprise they gave them all that space.

I agree on that.

The last Title Update #4 of Crysis 2 is already at 8MB. Took a while for me to notice that they intelligently didn't file it in the system cache which you would constantly have to clear, but on the main hard drive. The latest "Ghostbusters" title update that I have on my hard drive is at 6MB.

So that's why that last update finally stayed and didn't ask me to download it over and over. Before that update the game would ask me to download the update patch everytime I launched the game after playing a different game.

I agree with Duke that we shouldn't have to come to an online forum and try to schedule DLC matches with other players - we should just be able to get online, find a lobby and get playing the DLC maps. Unfortunately for us it just isn't going to happen that way immediately. This is a 'cry-ing' shame but I think it's very cool that we can all add our gamertags to a thread on here and add more DLC friends until we get the matches we want. Crytek may or may not pay attention to the posts here on gamesas but if we keep playing the game - DLC or no - then that could count for a lot.
Those new maps are awesome and C2 has to be one of my all-time favourite games - right up there with SuperMarioBros on the NES!

Bump.

PLEASE fix pummel rushing. It is rampant everywhere and needs a fix (like a slower melee time, recharge, and power). Feline I can fight sometimes, but I don't want to have to carry a shotty in my back pocket all the time.

And I agree the DLC should be included in basic playlists so if you run into a lobby where everyone has the packs, it'll show a DLC map in the vote options.
Also on the note of vote options, can they be randomized? It's annoying having to play through every single map in the pecking order to get to a map/game combo I like but never play because it's way back at the bottom of the playlist order (ie: Assault/Wallstreet or Extraction/Downed Bird)
