Exotic species

Post » Fri Dec 09, 2011 12:56 am

Have you never noticed how unoriginal the enemy's are in Oblivion and Skyrim? I'm not really complaining but I do miss cool, exotic monsters and enemy's and I wish they were in Skyrim too. I mean Dragons are awesome, Trolls are cool (buy annoying) bandits are, alright. And realistic wildlife is nice.

Think back to Morrowind though, or the shivering isles expansion of Oblivion. Silt striders, Gate keepers, Guar, Kwama, Netch, Elytra, Scalon. These are all super exotic, original and wonderful monsters that were plentiful and took good imagination and originality to come up with. Skyrim was just released so I'm hoping we see new exotic creatures soon. But still, it feels like in the way of enemys they slowly lost their touch in originality.

Again, I'm not complaining or whining about it. This is just something that gets me super into a game. I like seeing new ideas i'v never seen before.

The devs said that morrowind was supposed to be and feel alien. Most people think of morrowind as the defacto standard of the elder scrolls, but it was "supposed" to be the odd man out, where you were in an alien land.

I know, I'v read that before. But still.. It seems so much better to have all those odd and creative monsters. It just doesn't seem right to go from that, to boring old every day trolls, dragons and bandits.

Im not actually too fussed with the creature variety in Skyrim.

It is much better at unique creatures then Oblivion was.....I wish I saw more daedra though....not many of them.

I wouldn't be surprised if Skyrim's expansion was an alien world like SI was to OB.

I agree with all of this.

I also love the dragons they feel and seem more real than any game on the market. I hope The Elder Scrolls keeps them in threw out the series. I love how they feel like mini bosses. :tes:

I'm excited to see the DLC. They developed so much new tech for this game, they'll surely iterate on the existing content before making a new game. Especially considering how high the sales were.

I miss being ambushed by every manner of daedra, especially dremora, all over the place. My favorite moments were when I had to fearlessly jump through Oblivion portals and somehow make my way through the deadliest landscape I'd ever seen into the heart of the matter, to get the orb and break down just a little bit more of Mehrunes Dagon's hold on the mortal world.

In Skyrim, I'm just tired of being forced to either be the dragonborn, or not. No magical portals to a hellish nightmare. Just fight dragons, or not. Skyrim's main plot is devastatingly boring (the MQ ending was the biggest letdown ever)...

Spoiler
I thought that at the very least, the leaders of Skyrim and all of Tamriel would be like "WHOA... This guy needs to be the new emporer."

The Champion of Cyrodiil is ashamed of the dragonborn.

I think it's funny how the most iconic agitator in all of TES history is one of the most demanded mods. Why would you ever want those chickendactyls back?

I'm okay with the default enemies, if we're lucky we might see some new exotic species on DLC.

They might keep the Dragons. Since you don't kill off every dragon they might be a new species that spreads across all of Tamriel :P Be pretty cool.

I am also excited to see the DLC. I want expansions compaed to the tiny offerings Oblivion and Fallout had besides the Shivering Isles and Point Lookout of course. Todd said Bethesda was going to make the new DLC expansions like the Shivering Isles. I want big unique expansions similar to the Shivering Isles and Bloodmoon, loved those two. I would like also the option to change your hair and beard as well as your dirt levels and facepaint in the first expansion.

Thats what I am hoping for my friend. To have them majestic creatures breed and spread out across the lands so we can see and fight them again. :tes: I really do love them in this game.
