More Difficulty Options Please!

For those of us playing on a console with no mods to look forward to, would it be possible to add a few more difficulty options? Being a godlike character is not fun for me and many other people I imagine. The Oblivion style difficulty slider was great. I haven't played that game in forever, but as I recall trying to play with a maxed slider was virtually impossible. I've made a mage and a melee character, both are totally unstoppable by level 20 or so WITHOUT any smithing or enchanting items.

Another idea would be to reduce the bonuses perks give as you increase the difficulty. So at novice/adept, the destruction stagger perk would be 100% chance. If you turned it up to Master, you might only have a 30% chance to stagger. In fact I would prefer this option.

I don't think either of these would be very hard to implement, and I'd be much more inclined to purchase downloadable content if I knew it might actually pose a challenge.

Edit: I play on Master difficulty, btw

I wish my character could be a god/demi god that would be awesome... I personally could care less if my character is a little overpowered. I find it makes the game fun.

I really dont get it why some people think a super hard challenge is fun.... But hey thats just my thinking...

Difficulty settings imo should have been

novice = current adept

apprentice = current expert

adept = current master

expert = above current master

master = above that

Because some of us like the challenge. Thats why.
I dont recomend you try out Dark Souls:-) Its only for hardcoe players. Mainly at least.

Personally I hate when Im overpowered, i want to feel challenged in atleast 50% of the fights.
In Skyrim, Im generally challenged in the dragon fights. So once per hour or two Im challenged.
Thats not enough for me.
And Im on Master.

I agree that current master should be in the middle.

The damage from enemies on Master is fine, its their hitpoints thats not.

Double the life for enemies on Expert and tripe them on current Master and its going to be fine.

Wait for the Construction set to come out and some mods will pump more enemies, and make them tougher at the same time.

They balanced the game around a main character that scares the piss out of DRAGONS. Dragons! They might as well have made every enemy NPC a lich or a giant or a demigod. How are you supposed to go from slaying dragons en masse to dueling with the city guard. IRL, a mere mortal would melt just looking at such a dragon slayer. It's almost silly when you think about it.

What more could you expect from "streamlining" for mass market appeal. You don't need any special skills or even a plan to take on dragons. Just grind up, slap on your hacknslash daedric gear and charge on in.

I wish I knew how people were becoming OP while "apparently" not even trying to. Levelling up isn't instant, there's got to be a point where you think "alright, this is getting easier", so you just... y'know... stop slamming perks into combat?

I play on Xbox, so no mods for me. Like I said in the OP, tougher mobs would be awesome, but I would much rather see them nerf the perks. Keep the mobs HP and damage the same as they are now, but for Master difficulty give 1/3 or 1/4 of the bonuses from perks.

Am I the only one who thinks 100% chance for stagger with destruction spells is totally ridiculous? You can completely stunlock any enemy in the game. And with the heavy armor perks and 50% magic resist shield perk, my melee character is indestructible in steel armor (which I wear because the horns look cool). I can't even imagine how easy it would be in full daedric.

I realize it's probably a minority of players who feel this way, but honestly, how hard would it be to implement these things? Bethesda should also realize the more hardcoe players are also the ones more likely to buy their expansion packs.
