I've had my gamesas account since April. Not once did it show ANY of my game stats. Literally yesterday (technically, but only an hour or two ago) I posted my 1st post on here pertaining to the Dedication issue. I say this because after all this time of signing onto my account, once I posted on here for the 1st time, my online game stats & history magically appeared! I was surprised to see it because even though I haven't played a lot online, it was showing me incorrect info. Where it shows on the lower left side on the screen where you can see your past played games and the dates, it showed me the total amount of games I've played, the maps I've played on, but the one huge problem that is making me question this "glitched" achievement is the fact that it doesn't show the very 1st game I played back in March. Like I said, I tried 7 months after my 1st game in October. That is the oldest game shown out of ALL the games I've played online. The strange thing is, if you count the amount of games shown on the scroll down list, there is clearly ONE game short when you read the spot where it is written out exactly how many games/kills/etc you have right at the beginning of that little section. Now I'm left wondering, "why did my stats appear all of a sudden after all this time? Why does it include my full amount of kills, games, etc. starting back when the game was 1st released, but the visual match tracker only started registering in October and it doesn't match my actual play time?"
I have the strangest feeling that I'm not going to get the Dedication cheevo until next April now because for some reason, my 1st online game record was wiped away when they reset all the people who were boosting a while back, and the system only sees my oldest game on that list, which is October 23rd. Strangely, I'm hoping I'm part of the group that just has it glitched rather than have to wait til April. I don't know what variables were used in determining the 6 month mark, but this cheevo that has become so annoying should of been setup differently. It should of used the xbox or ps3's system info or game save data to determine the 6 months instead of whatever Crytek used to ruin this achievement/trophy.
I personally like having the gamerscore and trophy systems. I'm the type of person to tire after playing a game without them because I only know how to play the game one way, then it gets old. Even though cheevos aren't always best since they can be a bit off the wall, they still help me push further in a game. They help me think of new things to try in a game that I normally wouldn't have thought of doing. People will always knock the cheevo system, but I personally enjoy the experience of hearing that "ping" when I unlock one for doing something I normally wouldn't have done. I know it doesn't get me a better job or pay my rent, but for me, they add value (and time) to games I normally wouldn't bother with, or pre-order. Time sensitive ones can make me buy a game earlier, or hold onto it longer. I know the ONLY reason Crytek even made the Dedication achievement was to rope in people like me and make us hold onto the game longer, but to be so cruel as to make it glitchy, or do what I think happened to me and delete online stats of people that weren't even part of the boosting a while back and make us suffer even more is just a down right nasty thing to do.
I think the reason I only realized this could be the problem for a lot of people is because I could see the entire list of recorded games I played and I noticed my 1st game is counted, but not showing up on that list. I don't know if all games every played show up on the list as it grows, but going by my experience, I think the reason Crytek constantly ignores the community and doesn't acknowledge how to fix the issue or why it's happening, etc. is because they messed up and cleared the stats of people who truly didn't deserve to have their stats cleared and they just don't want to admit it or get caught. I have already further started to question this company when all they do is ignore their community. When compared to the other current big-name games who listen to their community, I think it's just a shame a company that is selling something that's designed to be "fun" has to ignore and abandon community support. I think it's a little bit to cover-up all of their mistakes and because they just don't care. Regardless, it's sad.
