What I meant was I do not consider Reach to be connected to Halo because of what they did to it. They rewrote their canon from the book Fall of Reach, turned the multiplayer to ****, sold the game with countless glitches that they never fixed and left to 343, and advertised it to be a huge money-making scheme for Microsoft resulting in the incorporation of tons of **** who, like stated above, do not know how to have fun and screw up the whole multiplayer experience and camaraderie that was always Halo. Example: in any other Halo, if two people happened to get in the same vehicle together (say, red driver and blue gunner), those two people would stay like that and have a blast confusing the crap out of everyone. In Reach, the same instance would result in the gunner jumping out and running away, or worse the driver jumping out and beating the crap out of the gunner just to get the kill. Example: If two opposite team members would wind up on either side of a glass pane, those two people would likely teabag at each other, shoot a few rounds, spin in circles, etc. But in Reach, the same instance would result in one or both players trying to find a way around the glass to kill each other for the points.
And that's my rant
Halo: Reach was launched with so few bugs it reached the highest ZBR (Zero-bug Release) rating that Bungie ever attained. ZBR pertains to major bugs, not minor bugs, or cosmetic ones.
That scenario you put there seems more like something a few friends would do, private match shenanigans, or a few players goofing off that happen to meet in the same match. Halo has been the original console competitive FPS and more than likely you are going to bump into players that want competition. No matter the game, I wouldn't drive around someone that's killing my team mates. That scenario sounds funniest in Slayer where everyone is different colors and has no teams. One of the few types of players that ruins the gameplay in halo are the ones that get jealous of your power weapon and team kill you for it.
I also do not understand why they altered events from the book either. With all the creative freedom they have they could had tied it in or made it work.
