Glass Armor

Post » Thu Dec 08, 2011 10:51 pm

When does glass start appearing/where have you found it. I'm level 22 on my assassin and have only seen a few glass weapons drop (no daggers though unfortunately) but no armor at all.

By the time I was your lvl I could make glass equipment. But it does'nt drop a lot period. If I were you I would invest in smithing, you cant go wrong.

I would but to keep a challenge I told myself I was only going to use one crafting skill and that's alchemy with this guy. I have no problems exploring to try and get it, was just wondering if I'm in the right level range for it to start dropping.

Smithing is far the best way to get your weapons. Use some perks to reach Glassy Crafting. And doing this you CAN improve your glass weapon. Sharpen it, etc...

So, Smithing is the BEST way.

It looks like glass can drop as early as 11, but the main chestpiece wont drop until around 38, unless you get lucky.

I've actually found a Daedric body armour, but not a Glass body armour so far. Rarer than hen's teeth it seems.

I have glass dropping pretty regularly on my guy, level 38....it depends on where you are looking. I had some glass drop in the 20's but it was mostly Elven gear at that point. Find caves with bandits, the leaders tend to have good gear on them. Also, I have found a few pieces in the chests near dragon nests. ...below is a place where you can load up on Elven gear and some glass weapons

Spoiler
Above Solitude is the place where they are holding the Grey-Mane son from Whiterun (It's a quest you can obtain there, a chain) It is an Altmer fort. They all wear Elven Armor and carry Elven or Glass weapons. There are a bunch of weapon racks inside also loaded with glass. I found a couple pieces of glass armor on shelves/chests. It's a great haul of money and Elven armor is light weight so you can empty the place in two trips.

yeah, unless you want your character to do interesting things besides use a forge in town. Glass armor starts appearing in the 30s, and is very very common by 40 and up. No need to waste perks on smithing.

I am looking for glass armor as well, specifically glass gloves. I'm level 48 and I don't have any smithing skill and I don't plan on upgrading it, ever. So if anyone knows where I could find some glass gloves that would be great thanks!

Found enchanted Glass Armor at level 20. Nothing else though, I guess I was just lucky. Try going to Thalmor bases.

You'll generally start seeing glass in your 30s.

You can smith stuff long before it'll even start to show up in leveled loot tables, which is why I suggest leveling it (Iron Daggers is a really cheap and easy way to do it) for pretty much all character types, with the exception of mages.

So I just checked every city and town in the game for vendors who sell armor, and NONE of them sell glass gloves. I'm level 48 with around 135 hours played and I have found every other piece of glass armor available, except for gloves.
It's official: They must be the rarest piece of armor in the game, excluding smithing of course.
