Crysis has had some great enemies. The Hunter, the Warrior, "little green **** shielding the others" (Dane quote), and Korean Helicopters.

But I just played the Pinger, and I gotta say, this wins. The sound it emits is terrifying, and you can hear it stomp around while you cower behind cover. It ate 4 JAW missiles, 2 C4's, a few 60mm grenades, and some fire assault rifle fire from everyone, before hitting the floor.

I died 5 times trying to defeat it. Most cases in which I was hiding behind a car, before it decided to 'ping' and make it crush me up against a wall.

I'm doing this on Veteran, might be weaker on lower difficulties.

Played on post-human super soldier.

All but the central station pinger are easy as hell to beat. Just cloak, throw C4 on the back and run away. Fire a few missiles, and its done. I defeated the other (2? or 3?) ones in literally under a minute each.

Acquire the FGL-40 and pump rounds into the mouth. Hide behind trailer to reload, and repeat. That was it. For the Pinger, you have to get behind the thing, which I found difficult due to it seemingly having Nanovision.

Still, the original wasn't too bad.

[size=150]yeah the pinger in crysis 2 is somewhat easy.
just cloak, get behind it, then throw c4 on the glowing thingy, run away, blow up, repeat.
rokets and bullets work as well, but takes longer.
the things that pissed me off were the ping it emmits takes out your suits energy and add the ceph that can come to the pingers aid, its a pain in the ass in that regard just because of it taking out your shield.
other than that its fairly easy.
