Xbox to laptop screen?

Post » Thu Dec 08, 2011 10:02 pm

I am one of the several unlucky folks who purchased Skyrim while owning an SDTV. I've heard people say that you can buy VGA cables to hook your 360 up to your computer monitor, but would that work for a laptop? If so, can someone send me a link to a cheap one on Amazon, because I have absolutely no idea what exactly I'm looking for?

It won't work. The VGA port on a laptop is "VGA out", meaning that you can only display the laptop screen on other monitors, and not vice verse.

You need to have a video adapter specific to the xbox to change this... Then again it's really only worth it if you have high def, further to that, it's only really worth doing it for screenshots or videos off the PC/Laptop. (You can get a bigger HD TV than monitor)

Buying a large and expensive HDTV is kind of against the point of me asking. I'm looking for a cheap fix for my SDTV/Skyrim compatibility issues (since I can't see the HUD and the text is super small), and I was hoping this would work since my laptop can handle HD. But I suppose I'll just have to live with it if this is not possible.
