Ideas for something to hoard in-game

Post » Fri Dec 09, 2011 12:52 am

I know this is dumb, but I had a lot of fun collecting all of the garden gnomes in Fallout. They were relatively rare especially in New Vegas and there's nothing cooler than having a massive gnome collection in my player's house. It was a fun distraction on top of everything else the game offers.

I'm having trouble thinking up a similar item in Skyrim to hoard. Any ideas are appreciated.

You always have the unusual gems. I believe there is a quest tied to them.

Troll skulls? Though they aren't that rare.

I just posted about the same thing. LoL. Nothing seems to be quite as disturbing as hundreds of wooden eyes watching your every move.

I have covered my floor with different kinds of gems. Looks cool. I have also found some golden statues from temples etc. Those are about the same size as the gnomes in FO i think. The are a bit rare also, wich makes it a good challenge.

Dwemer forks and knives? I've found exactly one of each so far.

Helmets! This is something I have been doing oddly enough sence Morrowind. I try to collect 1 of every helmet in the game, and display them on shelves. Hard to do in Skyrim though, with it's horrible grab funtion. I hope they fix this.

For now, maybe books? The bookshelves in game provide a great way to display them, not to mention alot of series with many volumes. You could also collect all the books that have bumped up a skill. Track down all the games rare books.

I was VERY happy to see they made the bookshelves easy to stock in this game. I already do collect all the books and armor sets in each Elder Scrolls; I just like to find something else unusual. Some good tips here, thanks. The gold statues are interesting; I wonder if I've even come across one yet.

I found a table knife that does 2 damage...It seemed rare so I kept and carry it.
It might not be rare, I don't know...I haven't found another one though. I've used it to finish off a couple of Bandits.

I keep the book titles I've never seen before. If they were in Morrowind or Oblivion, I sell them....and decorate the front of the house in Whiterun...with troll skulls.
