I had 1.2 installed and it worked. the fallout config window popped open for me to change and start the game etc.

then the new update happned. first of all it did not update my fallout nv exe to 1.3 it was the same modification time as the 1.2 install.

I did verify cache. same thing.

I told steam to delete the game. reinstalled. same thing but now it's 1.3.0.452.

so when I go to start it it opens the "prepairing to launch fallout new vegas" screen. closes the popup. then opens it back up again. I'm assuming it's failing to load the fallout nv launcher. I get no crash error message.

on further investigation steam seems to be starting a new steam process called steam.exe and also some times starts the fnvlauncher.exe. The exe's are visible in the taskmanager for approx 2 secs before they dissappear with no error messages and steam starts the process again in a never ending loop.
