In need of your input

Post » Fri Dec 09, 2011 10:21 am

Hello everyone, I just recently scraqed up enough cash to get a decent computer for the sole purpose of playing and modding Morrowind, and I am looking for your inputs on what mods I should begin with.
I haven't modded MW in roughly 2 1/2 years, but I do have a little experience. I am most interested in graphical improvements, and things that add to the game, e.g quests, landmasses, armor&weapons etc.

So far I have a few downloaded that I'm about to try, and I'm reading through guides on installing mods to re-familiarize myself.

Is there anything I should download before starting up a game? I would like to play through normally, and just add things as I go along. But if I remember correctly some mods would only work with a brand new save.

I have these so far:
Firemoth
The_Underground
Havish
Tenience's Rare Items

Also, I cannot remember if it matters which expansion I download first, Bloodmoon or Tribunal?

Thank you for your time.

Install Tribunal first, that's important :D

As for mods, there are a handful of fantastic mod lists out there. But since you mention graphics, take a look at http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1196406-relz-morrowind-overhaul-sounds-graphics/. It's a compilation of many great graphics mods and it's easy to install.

I would really recommend getting http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=7749 It adds some new NPCs around the world to make it more lively. It's a very well done mod.

This thread has a lot of good lists to take a look at as well, if you'd like

guides:

* BTB's (balance, balance, more balance, basic list of graphics updates)
* http://knotstheinane.blogspot.com/p/morrowind-modding-guide.html (specific graphics updates)
* http://arcimaestroantares.webs.com/suggestedmods.htm (some very nice mods here)
* http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1155980-povuholos-tomorrowind-a-mod-recommendations-list-for-today/ (still some more gems to find here)

all those were very helpful to me :)

Thanks for the posts so far.

I've just finished reading Baphomet's guide. Installing Tribunal now as well.

Ahh, the anticipation of finally playing is damn-near killing me hahaha.

I've owned that domain for so long and gotten so used to it that I've forgotten it's supposed to be weird.

All is well lol.
I'm reading through "BTB's Morrowind Mod List" and it's fairly hilarious. I particularly enjoyed the part about "lizard [censored]".
Very well written.

Thanks. I learned a long time ago that being a [censored] is a good way to get people to read stuff that they'd ordinarily just skim over, if that.

EDIT: ass. smart. [censored].

I love the censors on this board.
