I'm sure I have the files placed correctly but I keep getting an error that says the the mod can't find the master file it is based on.

I'm just coming back to the game after a while, but I seem to remember that this is not really a problem, the mod is just confused as to why it's finding a different version of the .esm than it was originally created under. Is this correct?

How can I fix it even so?

You are correct, it doesn't really mean anything. I think if you just save the mod in the CS it will update it, but don't hold that to me, as it may be wrong.

What is PMB?

It means that the esp was made with a different version of MW than you have. This is normal and common... and harmless, but annoying.

You could re-save it in the CS, but I do not recommend that because it will redate the esp, which will change your Load Order.

Update in Wrye Mash instead.
You'll see the esp will be Yellow. Highlight it, then click the Box in the lower right hand corner of Mash. (where its Masters are listed)
It will ask if you want to update... click OK.
The esp will now be Green. (no more warning)
