Haven't had any actual crashes per se, but I will forwarn anybody who's using a Toshiba Qosimo, like me: avoid those red-lit buttons on the left side like they're land mines. The one that brings up Windows Media Player in a window will take you out of fullscreen Skyrim and minimize the game to an icon on the Taskbar...and the game will not resume if you click it. You'll have to close the game and restart it. The same thing happened with Oblivion; it didn't at all like being interrupted.

Alt-Tabbing to Skyrim twice has always worked for me without a hitch, except that occasionally fire spell effects will disappear until I restart the client. But aside from that...

I must be the only person who's never had any issue with Steam then. I've got three games - Civ V, Supreme Commander 2 and Skyrim - all running via Steam, with no issues.

Try turning off anti aliasing in your lancher options. I used to have the same problem but once that was off my problems went away. Now I only crash once in a slight while zoning or fast traveling.
