2 daggers is twice as much damage.

Then if you get the Dual Wield power attack perk it is even more than twice as much damage.

So yeah.

The downside of 2 daggers is that you don't get the cool assassination kill animation.

As long as you make sure to get the 15x damage perk you could beat them to death with a liquorice stick and have the same effect

Nope. On Master if you are only using 1 dagger many things will not die in one hit, or even come close to dying in 1 hit, unless you use crafting to make an uberweapon.

I get the slit throat animation all the time with dual daggers, just need to decide when to do it. There are some monsters that wont die to a single dagger sneak attack, so in that case you use dual power attack, for those who will die just use a single dagger attack and you get the animation.

Dual Wield power attack animation kinda sux and often time my target notice my presence before I actually make the killing blow. I lately went with 1 sword 1 dagger style, the power attack is both fast and deadly (4 swings in no time). If I remember correctly, dual wielding daggers only strike 3 times in a power attack (correct me if I'm wrong), you might even do more damage with 1 sword 1 dagger. Just give it a shot ;)
