Is this the only way of getting the Euclid's C Finder to wor

Post » Fri Dec 09, 2011 6:05 pm

I tried the wiki and I am confused. I want to be able to use the Euclid's C Finder. I don't want to kill off the NCR officers. It says
■Alternatively, you can choose not to arm the plant defense system and only receive 2 Stimpaks and a small amount of Followers fame from Ignacio. However, you are able to use Euclid's C-Finder after obtaining it.
.

So how do I do this? How do you put power to the Archimedes II and not arm it so when I do find the Euclid's C Finder, it will work for me. Also, I haven't found it yet or the person is suppose to give the quest.

Also I think I clicked on Give Power to everyone, so did I screw up the quest now, or can I save it and change it? Again, I don't want to kill the NCR officers and take a hit to their reputation. Yeah I feel bad killing innocent NPC characters. :sadvaultboy:

So is there anything I can do, or do I just forget about the weapon for my current game? ( I swear I made a post of this before, but I can't fnd it. I click on my name and looked at the posts I made, and I can't find it. Sorry if this is the second post I made.)

I know that you will at least have to send power to Archimedes II. If the wiki says that you have to arm it and kill the NCR as well, then it's probably true.

If you've already sent power to everyone, then the C-Finder will not work. I'm pretty sure there isn't another way.

But I haven't acctivated the top part of the terminal, (where you have to be from 9am to 3pm) so I thought you can go back to the terminal and change it again. I saved my game, clicked on power to Archimedes II and it killed all the NCR guys, so I am thinking you can change your mind. So what does the wiki mean not arm it, but still get the Euclid's C Finder to work then?

Nevermind. I read your wiki quote wrong. I don't know, man. Just try it out. I don't have a save there, so your quickest option is just to experiment.

It makes sense, however, that you'll need to at least send the power to Archimedes to use the C-Finder... but when you do that, you'll have a second option to arm it, killing the NCR guys.

I'm guessing it means that if you do the first part without doing the second, the C-Finder will still function, which makes sense.

I did the saves Mr Nutsy and tried the options, and when I did it, my rewards were what it said I would except for the only recieving "2 stim packs" wich then would have told me, I would get the weapon to fire without killing anyone.

Ah, I think I will go back to my save before I click on the above platform.

Thank you for your help. I will be back once I get the weapon and then try all the other options then.

You dont have to kill anyone. Just set it to power the weapon and that will do just fine. BUT do at least try the blow up ncr trrops option as its realy FUN to watch..

Also if you power everyone and had talked to iggy about that before hand he will give you a big book of science...

Yes I set it to blow them up to see what would happen. It was fun. But how do I power it? Maybe I am missing the text line. What should I be reading to set it?

First I "Confgure Power Grid"

Then I have 5 options.

1) McCarran and Las Vegas Strip
2) Fremont and Westside
3Full Region
4)Archimedes II
4)Flull Region (Emergency Output Level)

So I clicked 4) Archimedes II then what do I do? I didn't go to the top to activivate it, but when I went to speak to the guy for the quest, I had no options to talk to him since the quest is not completed. So what do I do?

*edit* I see where I went wrong now. After selecting option 4) there is another option to select to "arm" it then. I must have been going so fast before, I didn't notice this.

Thank you all for your help. Now my only question is, should I go back to my save and make shure I have the Euclid's C Finder in my possesion first and then finish this quest or will it be ok to finish this quest now and then I will be able to use the Euclid's C Finder later once I have it in my possesion?

I want to start playing, but I want to make shure, do I need to find the gun first before I complete the quest, or can I complete the quest now, get the gun and still use the Euclids C Finders power?

This is a good question that I am wondering too. I have the book guide and it says you can activate helios and all that, then get the finder, then come back and activate it? not quite sure how that works out, maybe helps you.

Probably meant "unable." It's a typo.

Will check and get back to you later, but if i remember correctly, it was not a typo, it was more an entire sentence that said you could.

I was worried about the same thing because I had already completed the quest and armed the archimedes II without even knowing what it was. I found out about the C-Finder on the wiki and bought it from the kid in freeside, I thought I was too late to use it, but would give it a shot. When I equip the gun the ammo says 1/0 and it works once a day. You can get the C-Finder anytime, but it only works if you arm the archimedes II.

I am playing on the 360 however and have had one instance where I used it on the pack of deathclaws across the river and the beams just kept circling and it never went off. Chalked it up to a bug and went on my way. Upon loading the game the next day the message appeared saying the archimedes II was charged and it went off directly on me. Lost my legs, but I lived.

Thanks for the reply guys. It is good to know, I can complete the quest then. I hate when I can't complete a quest, because in the end, I forget about them.
