I'm getting absolutely sick of this.

The game is RAM limited. Those of us running higher resolutions are suffering for it. 6-12 gigs of system RAM doesn't help when the CONSOLIZED game won't use it!

In this thread people with 4 bagillion save files crash every time the game autosaves or they open a menu.

That svcks for you.

I have had super excellent stability thus far. I have crashed a total of 'one' time...

Win7 64 bit.

Updated Video Drivers for a 470GTX.

Updated Sound Blaster Fatality Drivers.

Windows 7 Service pack 1 update.

I am sorry you are crashing, if it's the software problem, it must be specific to your OS/Hardware and drivers tied to them. As I see it, it must be in your system somewhere, because this game run rock solid on my rig.

Perhaps you have some bad RAM???

I've put up with it until now, the random crashing to desktop for no reason. But 8 times in ONE HOUR my game has crashed today. I've changed no settings at all, but the game shouldn't crash in the first place! Will this be fixed with the next patch? Because I'm finding it hard to become motivated to even play this game now, because as soon as I get into it, it seems like the game crashes. It's impossible to get immersed, and if it's not crashing which is spoiling my gameplay, it's some other bug that Bethesda haven't fixed properly. I'm struggling to enjoy this game, part of me wants to enjoy it, but I just can't because of all these damn problems. I would expect it if I had bought an illegal torrent copy, but I've paid money for this game, and it doesn't work properly! What's worse is that Bethesda don't seem to even care about these issues! Getting real sick of this.

I play tons and tons of high graphic/quality games with my rig including New Vegas and such, with no crashes. But Skyrim gives me an average of 1-2 crashes per hour. Brand new also with patches pending... It's almost definitely the game.

Well I have downloaded that 4GB launcher, and trying that out now. Ran a disc cleanup/defrag yesterday, fingers crossed!

I had the odd CTD until I applied the LAA patch, then it stopped. Then steam updated and it started happening again.

Haven't applied since the update, cant be bothered, my quicksaves are usually at most a minute apart :D

First things I would check is your video card drivers. Another thing you might want to check is the fans in your computer on your CPU and video card. Its possible after playing a certain amount of time your pc is overheating and you CTD

Good luck and happy holidays

Meh....I've seen a few CTDs already, but they're realitively clean CTDs, meaning I can just start the game right back up without having to do anything else. I quicksave every 10 seconds, so.....it's no biggie.

Yep. Just adding to the voices of people having crashes. During the initial weekend I had lots of CTD - found out about the LAA and fixed my .exe and then no crashes untill steam patch. Now it's crashing again. Will get the new LAA launcher and it will likely solve it.

For those of you blaming everything else except Skyrim and saying "noone else is having those issues" should really look around. Many forums are filled with people with exact issue. But oh, what do I know I only got a degree in CS and working as a software developer :whistling:
