Imperial Legion Armor

Post » Fri Dec 09, 2011 12:11 pm

Hi all,

I want to stay an imperial officer after the main imperial quest line. Is there anyone out there who has kept their imperial legion armor on for an extended period of time at the upper levels of play (lvl 20+), or is it such that one must change their armor to something more powerful like daedric armor of dragonplate armor. And before people start saying "imperial armor is so bad, etc" I want to keep on the imperial armor for role playing purposes and it just looks cool in general.

Another question I have is where can i find an imperial officer helmet (other than the one from the very beginning of the game because i missed out on it)

Thanks in advance for your feedback

You could always use Smithing to make the Legion armor better.

Smithing and Enchantment will help a lot. You really can use just about any armor you like unless you are a full-on charge straight ahead tank with no shield.

Thanks for the feedback,

Yeah thats what i originally thought, i upgraded the armor to "fine" quality, but i need to raise my smithing skill more to upgrade it further. My real question, however is whether or not there actually are people who have had some success with the game wearing imperial armor at the upper levels (aka without dying when they run into a bear in the wilderness)

I beat the main questline and I am lvl 24 right now

I have my smithing skill up to 29 with the steel perk activated... is imperial armor considered "steel"? I have the imperial armor upgraded to "fine" but cannot upgrade any higher at 29, because it says i lack the required skill.

You can make any armor in the game give super huge defense with enough smithing skill,at 90 smithing,I can upgrade just about any piece of crap armor into (Epic) and it'll be just as good as any other armor. This is my favorite feature.

Also remember to use Blacksmith potions and enchantments, they let you upgrade weapons and armor much more.

My other question is what category does the imperial armor fall under? does it fall under the "steel" armor type? this would matter because when the specific perks relating to an armor type are picked (apparently, according to the UESP wiki site) if you have the perk researched for a specific type of armor (steel, ebony, dragon, etc) they require a lower overall smithing skill to upgrade that armor type to the next level (fine, superior, epic, etc). Any insight on this?

I think the Imperial Armor would be fine with smithing and enchantments, but I'm wondering how the Imperial Light Armor would fare...

I think getting the Steel perk opens up Imperial armor.

I think some Imperial Armor is Iron. I don't know if there's a better version of the Body armor, but Imperial Steel Gauntlets and Steel Shin Boots are Imperial-Legion steel armors.

So can i get the matching set bonus with steel imperial gauntlets and steel shin boots plus imperial helmet and armor? Also, at what level should i be able to upgrade the imperial armor types to "superior"?
