If they wanted German/Northern European/Scandinavian accents, why didn't they cast German/Northern European/Scandinavian voice actors? Skyrim is a sumptious game, but the poorly voice-acted Arnie soundalikes breaks the immersion for me somewhat. I wince whenever I hear that stupid accent.

I'm not American- I'm Scottish and I tend to think that we Scots have a finely-tuned ear when it comes to recognising different accents. I agree that it would be bad if it was actually a serious attempt to make a german accent. It's too over the top, sounds like a parody. But it doesn't really break the immersion for me because there's no germany in the game world, they just wanted to include some diversity in accents of that world, add a little flavor and they were obviously inspired by real world accents.

I'm not sure if that edgy style was intentional or not though. The problem with the german accent is the image of Arnold that pops in your head every time you hear it. :biggrin:
