Skyrim: From your perspective

Post » Fri Dec 09, 2011 2:27 pm

This is me right here. I know it's not perfect but I have so much to do to keep me busy that I'm at 55 hours and havent touched the main quest yet. Heck, the bottom half of the map hasn't been touched yet.

I have it on the 360. I pre ordered it be because I'm a Bethesda freak. And I'll be getting the PC version when I get my gaming rig for income tax return time.

Fair enough guys, brand value/ bethesda's name has alot of popularity for buying their games

What had the biggest impact on my purchase? It's an Elder Scrolls game with a huge open world! I guess that counts as "gameplay".

I rated 8/10. Once they patch it up more it'll be at least 9, maybe 10.

PC player here, bought it for the gameplay.

9/10 - minus 1 point because the (main) story is abysmal. But I expected no better, I did not buy an elder scrolls game for the story - but for the gameplay and modifiability.

Other - I've played all other ES games, been waiting years for this one.

PC Retail.

10/10. This is the first ES game my wife has ever gotten in to. That right there is proof enough to me that it's "doin something right."

interesting that digital download is less than retail :
retail = 150 - 74 = 76 (74 votes before digital option added)
digital = 52

rumor is that digital usually outnumbers retail, but not for Skyrim apparently

Rated 10/10 for it is, after all, one of the best games I have played. The rating also takes into account the modding possibilities of the PC version, which made both Morrowind and Oblivion worth hundred of hours of gameplay. Without the modding, it would probably have been a 9/10, for there are a few kinks mods can and will fix. The menu interface could have been done better (http://i.imgur.com/LvUlP.jpg). Some of the level scaling is still irritating, though miles ahead of the mess Oblivion's was. But otherwise, Skyrim has been, for me, an exceptional experience.

Oh, by the way: the modding possibilities fostered by the Elder Scrolls franchise has been reason numero uno for me to buy Skyrim (and the two Fallouts, too), so you might want to look into the modding aspect of other games you conduct this survey on.

3. Other - I bought this game because they release the developer kit. It's going to be a lot of fun to make mods for, and to totally overhaul with all the stuff other people come up with.

I bought Skyrim for ps3 mainly because of the freedom TES games have and all small things like the books. Other games which tries to do the same things like Two worlds II don't have the same things like books and small clutters. I would rate Skyrim 10/10 even because of the fps bug.
