Is there a way to save...

*WARNING, MAJOR SPOILERS INVOLVING THE MAIN QUEST*

Okay, so I'm at the point where I've just held a peace council between the Stormcloaks and the Imperials, and Delphine has asked me to kill Paarthurnax. Now, I really don't want to do this. He is one of the most interesting characters, which I've really grown to like. He has also helped immensely in the fight against Alduin. Sure, he used to be allied with him, but that was a long, long time ago. I tried to persuade Delphine to forgive Paarth, but there isn't even an option! So it seems like I'm being forced to commit a senseless murder to open up the Blades quests. Is there a way around this? Can I save Paarthurnax while going on to do the Blades quests? Because honestly, if she's forcing me to kill the old guy, she can go [censored] herself.

Is there something I missed? Can I save him? I'm on console btw

thats the point where you have to take sides either with the blades or graybeards. if you dont kill him the blades will not talk to you, if you do kill him the graybeards will do the same and even threaten violence which surprised me considering they're a very peaceful people.

Just dont kill him, Paarthurnax will give you similar help that the blades would give you. Ive killed him and not killed him, I didnt notice much of a difference.

That's impossible. You can't become a member of the Blades without becoming a horrible murderer, it seems. Really disappointed Bethesda didn't give you the option to ally both sides.

Why not use Skyrim Cheats, Hints, and Spoilers forum instead when you gonna post spoilers, people don't expect spoilers here, even if you use spoiler alert.
