"I hate level scaling enemies" "This game is too

Post » Sat Dec 10, 2011 2:26 am

I keep seeing these two statements pop up, and they're idiotic. Of course the game will be easier without across the board level scaling, dolts. Stop bringing these things up, it's starting to drive me insane.

You know, you're going to hate this, but if Bethesda had BALANCED the game better peoples play experience wouldn't be so all over the place and more consistently positive.

I think many people missed the fact that only Guards, Imperial Armymen, Stormcloak Armymen, and Alduin level with you.

It's not a total issue with balance as with AI. They claim to a have built a new engine but I'm pretty sure we all can agree it's the same engine as FO3. This game is tiny. Either size or engine constraints left enemies as dumb as ever. Dragons are one of the easiest things I see considering half the time they land I don't get attacked a single time and I'm free to wail on them.

Dude, at least 50% of the engine is Morrowind engine, the rest is dvided between Oblivion, Fallout, and marginal feature improvement.

I'd like to see where you got those numbers.

H?h?. You know how people like you tell players who say that the game is too easy to police themselves and not use crafting professions, and half the skills in the game? Well, going by that logic, police yourself and don't read such threads.

Other then dragons and the difficulty of stealth characters on masters early game, I have had much of an issue with balance, I think its fine.

As long as your not abusing the Blacksmithing/Enchanting/Alchemy problems with hard limits.

The biggest problem I have is the AI as well, which can be so horrendously stupid that it will allow me to wail on them from a position of three feet away without ever raising their weapons against me or moving out of my line of fire. This has happened so many times while I was sneaking that it's pretty much a running gag for me at this point. Not all the AI is like this, but it's extremely easy to trick the AI into complicity. Which does, then, affect the difficulty of the game. This is one of the things I really hope they fix in the coming months.

Really? Again? Ok.

This game (and TES in general) is about total freedom to do what you want. If you want to powerlevel and be invincible you can. If you don't want that you don't have to. If you want to spend your time picking flowers and hugging trees you can.

You get more dangerous versions of each enemy type when you enter a new dungeon as your level gets higher.
It is not only then scaling if it is the same guy.

If you guys think the game is so easy try killing a giant at level 1, then you'll see how your precious level scaling is really working.

Oh really? Where is my freedom to do 2000 damage with a spell? Ohhh, yea, that was removed since Oblivion...

Skyrim is easy, I disagree with that. I just fought two Drauger Deathlords at level 20 (not at the same time) and barely won against both of them while having The Mace of Molag Bol equiped. I had to use at least half a dozen health potions, I would argue that Skyrim is not easy and can be hard at times even on adept.

You don't want to see threads about this, yet you create one. Facepalm.

The leveling is way better than Oblivion. At least gear on bandits isn't leveled nearly as much. It's annoying that loot in stores is leveled, it should be available if you can save the coin.
