Hold on... did I miss something? (end game spoilers)

Post » Fri Dec 09, 2011 11:52 pm

So I killed Alduin or whatever and was transported back to the throat of the world to see many dragons flying around. I spoke to Parthanox breifly and then the other one, and watched as they flew away, Is that it? The main quest ends and I get nothing but a dragon follower I can call on? No armor or weapons... a cut scene or something I couldn't even loot Alduin's body? The main story doesn't feel over to me, and I know the blades people want me to kill Partanox but I refuse to do that. I feel as though Bethesda released a game with no real ending to the main story. Anyone else confused?

sounds like pretty much every other Bethesda main questline.

Morrowind: you kill Dagoth Ur, Azura stops by and says hello, and you're free to go do whatever.
Oblivion: Martin banishes Dagon, Ocato stops by and says hello, and you're free to go do whatever.
Fallout 3: you turn on Project Purity and die. (OOPS.)
Skyrim: you kill Alduin, Tsun stops by and says hello, Paarthurnax stops by and says hello, Odahviing stops by and says hello, and you're free to go do whatever.

what were you expecting? the game to end?

They should've done this! Or at least just make it look better with his bones and scales!

Yea, I wanted to hang his skull in my home. However I was happy enough just going to Sovengarde.

Even for a Bethesda game this one seemed a bit...unimpressive.

In MOrrowind the Blight storms stopped. In Oblivion all the gates Collapsed. in Skyrim? Go back to the daily routine. The only thing that changes after the mainquest is some NPC dialogue and a new bard song.

That's it...Nothing tangible to leave your mark on the world. That's something that even WoW does better than this-and that's not a good thing.

No I was just expecting something for all the trouble that I went through, but it was just so bland. It seemed like no one cared that I just saved the world and treated me like i made the worlds largest sweet roll rather than saving everyone on the planet from Alduin.

You'd be getting even more attention if you made the world's largest sweetroll.

Oblivions ending was 350% better. I hope skyrim ending was a mistake.

It leaves a lot open for DLC. Just think now that you beat the people what they can do with DLC, they can now satisfy you with sweet dragon armor. Who doesn't like being satisfied? I just hope they don't make only 4 DLC I want like an extremely large one pretty much a second game just build around everything maybe go into a different part of the map like morrowind or cyrodil. I think that would be sweet then a few smaller ones but the size of like old world blues from new vegas then some small ones like the wizard tower. They might even bring in some functions like making your own spells and what not. Just because the main story is over doesn't mean its over. You got 4 guilds and infinite side quests, and I do mean infinite.
