I am posting here since I see no bug forum, and this one is pretty major. Read it
so your dont get locked out of major quest lines like I did.

I am seeing a pattern in this game, and hopefully I can prevent other people
from doing it. Here are the two problems I encountered:

1) When you buy your house in Riften, immediately talk to the Jarl to get awarded
the title. I did not, along with others I saw on this forum. When I went back a few days
later, the quest marker is showing over the Jarl, but she will not award you the title.

2) The ritual to become a werewolf I initially thought was the same way. The first time
I did it, an event immediately triggered after it. I reloaded and decided to come back
days later. When I did, the event didnt happen. On a hunch, I waited an hour in game
time and it triggered (to let the 3 min timer wear off).

From this point onward, it seems to be in your best interest to complete events in front
of you, and if you decide not to, reload to an earlier game. Hopefully the title for Riften
gets patched if its necessary later in the game.
