Remember in Morrowind when entire villages would disappear?

Post » Sat Dec 10, 2011 1:43 am

....well, it happens in Skyrim! It has happened twice in Windhelm - only a portion of the city disappeared, leaving small chunks of it that I sometimes could, and sometimes could not walk through. It also happened once with a mountain. I walked right through it.

You know what? I felt a nostalgic happiness.

That has never happened to me in Morrowind. I played on PC though. Perhaps that was an XBox glitch?

I do actually remember this curious little glitch on Morrowind.
Go to a town and everything besides the NPC's and doors is gone. Nothing but flat textureless land and floating door frames.

Sounds to me as if you partook of the "Seeds of Vision" from Mother Punga

I never saw that in Morrowind, and I don't remember it in in Oblivion, but it happened from time to time in Fallout 3 and NV. The landscape mesh fails to render for some unknown reason and you come to the edge of the world. 'Tis a quirk of the Gamebryo engine... er, sorry, "Creation". Low LoD landscape textures failing to update as you get nearer are another feature. Save - quit - reload.

Well, it obviously mistook you for Chuck Norris. Mountains only make way for him. I'd start setting your affairs in order if I was you, Mr Norris doesn't like impersonators, or 'heretics' as he likes to call them...
