Roleplaying and restrictions for more immersion.

Post » Sat Dec 10, 2011 12:38 pm

Well, now i'm on vacations ! HOLIDAY YEAH !

So i'll have plenty much time to play Skyrim..
I was thinking into creating a new character and this time kinda roleplay it and make some little restrictions for more immersion.
I don't restrictions such as i have to eat 3 times a day, and have to sleep 8 hours a day and dead is dead..

I want some minor restrictions and some tips of how to roleplay.
Can you please help me ? Thanks

Only carry what you would realistically be able to carry.

that means no having 20 swords in your invent or 5 armour sets. This more than anything has made my RP'ing more immersive.

I only take jewelry/gems/gold as loot, except for stuff I can use or I can give to my companion to use (if I'm taking one along). I'm an archer so I only take things that will help my role as such. I do sell the jewelry and gems but it takes quite a long time to overburden by not taking the extraneous stuff. I'm at level 25 now, own a house and still have about 20K gold. Correction, I also collect ingredients and store them in my house for the time I decide to play with alchemy for making poisons. Oh, I also collect and store soul gems in my house. I've found a few enchanted bows so I need soul gems to recharge them. One of my bows collects souls so every now and then I finish off a critter with it to fill a gem.

"Look before you leap" = No fast travelling (carriages are okay). Cuts down the amount of money you get.
"Live off the land" = No purchasing items from merchants (whether you can sell is optional, it helps you get a house).
"Mundane dragonborn" = No magic. This includes all magic skills, recharging weapons with soul gems, and staves.
"Super specialist" = Perks can only spent in one skill category (magic, combat, or stealth).
"Full-time adventurer" = No performing tasks that are tied to a job other than adventuring. This includes mining, herb gathering, cooking, chopping firewood, stealing, smithing, alchemy, or enchanting.

I'm playing with one rule which after 70 hours I've managed to stick to... somehow:

No fast travelling.
