Does the game freeze significantly more often the more you p

So I had minimal freezing (ps3) when I first started playing. Now I am level 30, 65 hours in, and my game freezes WAY more than it use to. It happens the most during fast traveling where it will just sit at the loading acreen and never fully load or sometimes it will load me into the new cell and pretty much freeze up.

Separate question here.........is this harming my ps3 or does the freezing have no effect on the hardware?

Do what I do.
Load save, remove save, save new file, done.
Oh and remove autosave every once in a while too.

I turned autosave off as soon as I got the game. Is this harming my ps3?

This happens to me a lot and I have to switch off my PS3 instead of pressing the PS button and switching off the console that way, which is slightly harmful. Can lead to YLOD in the long run.

I personally haven't found a correlation between the amount of time played and the amount of freezing though.

Do you have the original model because I have a slim and there is no switch so I just press the power button and it shuts my ps3 down when it freezes.

What is YLOD? Thanks.

I hit the button to shut off the console when I get a hard freeze. I'd have to say that I think it's been freezing less since the patch but I'm worried about the later stages of my game because that's when Fallout 3 had the most problems. I'm at level 25 and over 100 hours but not anywhere near completing the main quest or many other quests. I guess we'll see.
