Question about "here and now perk, lvl 30- to 31?

Question about the perk "here and now".

Basically level 30 is the max limit in FNV and also your last perk choice. What happens if you take "here and now" perk at level 30?

I'm Guessing nothing due to you being unable to gain anymore XP and that is what Here and Now Uses the XP system

Well
Step 1. Save
Step 2. level up
Step 3. Choose perk
Step 4. See what happens
Step 5. If doesnt work reload.

In FO3 it was no longer an option on the menu when you hit 30. I can't imagine it's changed.

Yeah, without Broken Steel you couldn't take it at 20 and with Broken Steel you couldn't take it at 30.

So since the current level cap is already at 30, will the first DLC take the level cap to 40?

Why the hell do people think 'leveling' is the sole important thing in the game? 30 levels is plenty enough.

Because it adds a reward to actions that may otherwise be a waste of time? There's not much to be gained from exploring a Gecko cave besides XP and caps.

Okay, but if you hit level 30, then that should be it. Every game doesnt need a DLC level cap breaker.

See, that's the point - we need a subsystem that rewards players for doing such things (e.g. exploring a geck cave) that isn't just the main levelling system.

EDIT: Or create another build...

30 levels is not enough if you like to keep building your character. I'm already at level 20 and haven't even been to the strip yet. I've just been exploring. They either need to raise the cap..(highly doubtful.) Or add in a mode for half XP or something. If I had the game on PC I'd probably just make a half XP mod.
I actually love the game at lower levels.. at 20 though you basically are a god.. at 30 your unstoppable. I don't really want to play the game as a first person shooter but that's what it becomes after you hit 30. Adding a DLC to a game where you already have a level 30 character just makes that DLC not as fun as it could be. In F3 it was even worse because you could have a perfect character build. The games just give you way too much Xp for little tasks. At high levels it even gets worse because most enemies earn you 50xp each so you actually level faster at high levels then you do at low levels. Then they also give you xp for achievements,, and xp for tiny quests. It all just adds up to quickly.

Your right that 30 is a high enough level.. But if 30 is the level cap then it should be at least very difficult to reach that level cap. Why they don't think about that when they made an explorable open world game is beyond me. My vote is for a half XP mode.. or a quarter xp mode for people who really want a challenge. Not that I get a vote or that this will ever happen..

A thoughtful post.
Yes, I too am Level 21 and haven't been to The Strip yet.
I've just been exploring...
That perk that gives more XP, and especially the one that lets you jump 1 whole level, are strictly for Rushers.
You know, the players that want to finish ASAP and the side-quests are just distractions...
If you slowed down the XP or the leveling, those folks would be screaming bloody murder. :P

I do all quests and explore everywhere, and when I get bored, I start again and do things differently, e.g. Goodsprings.
