Need Help in Blender

Post » Sat Dec 10, 2011 5:36 am

Was just learning to create weapon meshes for morrowind through Blender through this tutorial: http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Blender_3D:_Noob_to_Pro/Creating_Weapons_based_on_2D_Images

Just got stuck up at this part in Method where it says

4.Select the center vertices on the blade, and scale up.

Can anyone savvy in Blender explain me how to do it??

Holy crap, mate why are you doing an only text based weapon tutorial these days? There are so many great video tutorials available on youtube, blendercookie.com and whatnot. I'm an experienced modeler, but this tutorial would be a pain in the butt to do for me as well.

Just as an example, it's blender 2.5, but the workflow should be easy to adapt:

PS: Don't do step by step tutorials, you'll learn not much from them. Learn pure basics instead. Doesn't matter if you have to model a sword or a cow, it's all the same, once you have understood how to use the tools inside blender! ;)

I'm not sure exactly what the author means by "scale up" in this context. I think you're supposed to move the vertices up (G is the move key, B or C for selection)

By the way don't real Noob to Pro. It's horribly outdated and has been that way for years.
