I presume you are at the armor cap of ~570?

Did you put points into health?

Did you block?

Wish they made some NPCs capable of actually smithing me something. I want dragon light armor, can't get it cause every smith in Skyrim is incapable of making me a steel dagger.

From what I've read the way damage mitigation is calculated after 675 armour you stop seeing any real benefit to raising the armour rating further.

It's also (supposedly) quite possible to reach 675 AR wearring light armour... not sure of the specifics, i presume legendary upgraded dragonscale, but may require enchantments to buff your light armour rating
