anyone else have a problem marrying lydia? her only condition is that you have to be thane of whiterun. i have the amulet of mara that you need to marry someone but she doesn't say [censored] about the marrying or whatever lol

Two different characters and she won't give either the time of day even with the Mara amulet on, so I don't know what's up with that.

I "accidentaly" killed her during a fight with a cave bear on my first character because of this. Now with my second I'm trying to get some lisbian love going on. All she does is sit at the house anyway. And she eats all the bread and sweetrolls she wants. Why does she have to complain all the time. Oh she acts like she doesn't but I hear her munching away up there.

Hahaha, shes always in my room at the breeze home in whiterun. Eating away at bread. "munchmunch"

Two things: The follower levelling is a bug. They do actually level up, it's just that the game never updates their stats when they do. So they are level 30 or whatever, same as you, but they have the stats of a 5 year old. That's clearly a bug, and I think Bethesda plans to fix it.

Secondly, Lydia is supposed to be marriable. She has the conditions set and all that, and the guides and other announcements include her in the marriable list. However, somebody forgot to add her to the marriable faction (yes, it's a faction) and so she doesn't actually get the dialogue. It's an easy fix, for PC people and a simple command to add her to the right faction.

For anyone else, I expect a patch eventually.

Is there a command console way to get around this problem for now? I don't want to level up like a pro and have my follower die getting hit by a mammoth crap

She has been a good companion. She can pick locks that I can't.

And she has higher archery than me.

She's not a bad companion for the most part until I'm stuck slow boating through a dungeon and try to give her crap to carry. Oh you don't want to carry that awesome ebony sword that I just gave you and you immediately equipped? Fine give it back and you can carry all these nice chunks of ore and pelts and random dwemer metal crap I found. See if I care if you die because you have no nice armor or weapons, just turns you into a chest to hold my crap while I go sell some stuff to lose weight so I can come back and get my conveniently located stuff off your corpse.

It seems that Lydia captured many hearts, including my own.
I spent nearly 6 months Tamriel time with her and she was brave, sixy and willing to carry my burdens, and I would have married her if I could.

One day, I innocently introduced her to some ungrateful “friends” who took her in and trained her, but they have since informed me that I am no longer welcome to visit.
I hope she will remain happy in the years to come, but I have since found true love, and marriage, with Jordis the Sword Maiden!

I find myself swearing at her each time she says this. I too wish they had thrown in a few more random things for her to say. :brokencomputer:

LOL

If you are talking about ...
Spoiler
the blades
... I almost introduced her as a follower. But I actually caught myself and thought ...
Spoiler
what if I can't get her back??
... so I didn't do it. Was I right? I've introduced a couple other people there but I haven't advanced the story enough yet to know what happens ...later.
