The Dunwich Building is nothing, trying playing F.E.A.R. in the dark on your own, it scared the bejebus out of me lol.

But back on topic, I'm just at Nipton on my second play through and did very little cave/sewer crawling first time around and I plan to rectify that this time :)

Edit: CyricTheMad you can hear whispering ...
Spoiler
in the graveyards at Camp Forlorn Hope too

LOL! Yeah, the one part that sticks out the most in my head was climbing down this ladder and as my guy turns to start down, that little girl (whose name I don't recall) is standing there... and then you get to the bottom, as if you're not rattled enough, the moment your character turns to step off the ladder that guy (whose name I also don't recall) is right in your face.

Vault 34: I liked, it was creepy and fun.

Vault 22: I liked at first, but got bored towards the end of it.

EDIT: My favorite vault so far though was the one where you had to sit in the VR pod and go into Dr. Braun's(?) little black and white utopia, that was awesome!

With Vault 22 I was expecting a more violent ending. I kinda wanted to have to run from room to room in order to outrun an explosion to the Vault entrance. That would've been a blast! (pun intended)

Dr. Braun's vault was fun too. It may just be the inner pyschopath in me that enjoys that stuff though.

Yep that's the one. I remember a bit similar to Cyric, go down a ladder into a dark corridor, you go a little way forward towards a dark turn and there right in front of you is the little girl, scares me half to death and I loose half a clip into her lol.

I honestly think it was the fact it was a little girl that made it so creepy/scary. I'll be checking out some of the other games mentioned in this thread too. Though I doubt any will live up to F.E.A.R.'s scariness (I wasn't bothered with the Silent Hills BTW, they didn't creep me out at all).

And if you stand in a cemetery, like the one above Goodsprings and next to Camp Forlorn Hope you can hear a faint, close whispering. You have to turn your radio off, that gave me the chills.

Vault 34 would be creepy if I were alone, but not particularly with Boone or ED-E, as I can get more info about my surroundings. Without them, I'd be a bit more creeped out, I think, just waiting for ghouls to jump me. Occasionally, if I'm running point, I'll look back, just to make sure my guys are still there, backing me up.

I thought Vault 22 would be creepy, but it really wasn't. The Spore carrier zombie things were predictable.

You people haven't experienced fear until you've explored Vault 22. Easily the most frightening Fallout experience yet. In the Dunwich building, you're just fighting ghousl - things you've killed 100 times before. In Vault 22, however, you're up against something you won't find anywhere else...

What the green guys? A bit tough at low levels. I went back with Rex and he found a couple i missed. Just ripped their heads off he did. I had no chance to do anything. ;)

Stalker is the creepiest game ... by far.

My favorite game for an immersive scary game, System Shock 2. THAT one rocked. surround sound in the dark... oooh yeah

QFT. To this day SS2 is the only game that has ever been able to leave an impression on me as it did. I haven't played it in a few years but I can still hear the damn chimps, or the hybrids shouting. It was also the first game I turned background music completely off to be able to fully enjoy the atmosphere of the game. Don't think I could play a game now if you couldn't turn it off.

The enemies themselves aren't so bad...it's the fact that they lay in wait in the tall foliage for you to advance a few steps with your back turned to attack. That Vault had me furiously attacking every plant growth I saw...and they still managed to sneak up on me, somehow.

FEAR? What? No. Try playing Amnesia: The Dark Descent alone at night, no lights and headphones on. You'll give up.

That game is awesome but I had a blast playing it, never had to stop XD Jumped outta my chair a few times though.

FEAR 1 had some nice scary moments.
STALKER SoC was intensely creepy when exploring the underground labs.
But Amnesia: The Dark Descent really freaked me out. Jesus!

when I first started playing this game I kinda found the whole game kinda creepy to a point. certain areas add more creepyness to the whole game. how about searching around and bumping into 2 ghoul reavers and only being level 11.

That's not scary as such, more of a "oooooh crap, run away RUN AWAY!" ;) Though even at higher levels I still want to do that with those bloody nightstalkers lol.

Or silent hill 2.

Yes, I made my boyfriend play while I watched and he'd ask me, can I stop playing now, lol. That apartment building is something else.

So. I tried out that whispering. Apparently, it starts out friendly, then if you take from the grave, it gets dark.
Can anyone confirm that, or am I just tricking myself
