Advice for light settings

Post » Sat Dec 10, 2011 5:29 pm

Hey,

I goofed and changed the light settings in the ini to something I dont like and cant remember what they used to be. Does anyone have some light setting tweaks they wouldnt mind posting?

I prefer a darker game especially indoors. Moody lighting is best so that candles matter and the room isnt so bright that every square inch of the room is lit.

I use TLM but the .mit included doesnt seem to be affecting my game.

Can't remember what thread I found it in but here's mine:

[LightAttenuation]
UseConstant=1

;
UseLinear=1

LinearRadiusMult=1

UseQuadratic=1
QuadraticMethod=2
QuadraticValue=http://forums.bethsoft.com/index.php?/topic/1292755-advice-for-light-settings/2.619
QuadraticRadiusMult=1
;
OutQuadInLin=0

It's supposed to be most natural for lighting settings.

The values will look a little bizarre, but I use Clean Lights_300_v4, which lets light sources give off light the same color as the flame/case/etc. Works beautifully in alchemists' shops and the Dummer temples, in particular.

Whew thats dark!

A bit too dark for me but it probaly has more to do with me using the TLM mod. I will have to try out the Clean Lights mod.

It's dark, but when you consider all the light sources, it really does add a great deal of color and light, as well as shadows. Plus, dungeons are darker, which makes them more atmospheric (and light spells more useful). But each to their own.

I use Jeoshua's values from http://web.archive.org/web/20080916224113/http://www.yacoby.net/es/forum/12/6046021166065800.html. IIRC, he was the first to work out you could enable all three lighting types.

Well the candles in my game gave off absolutely no light or color with those settings. I end up with really dark interiors which is fine except things like candles and lanterns give off zero light. Must be something to do with how TLM handles light sources.

Remember, as I mentioned above, I used these settings with Clean Lights_300_v4.

I just tried it out and I like how lights 300 deals with lights. Much moodier. I think ill just load it after TLM and use its effects.

Just a suggestion: TRUE LIGHTS AND DARKNESS 1.1
http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=39605

More dark than TLM and has Light300 color scheme.
Very stable.

This looks actually very good! Does it work with Leeloos Lantern Replacer?

TESPCD indicates conflicts in the MODL and LHDT records in both mods. I supose the conflict will override the color scheme and the models from one and another.

Smartmerger could be a great job for you since it can extratct only the MODL record from LEELOS into Lights and Darkness plugin.
Take a look in the manual and be patient. It′s very handful after learned.
