Anybody Get A Corrupted Savegame Yet?

These always put the fear of the almighty in me from earlier games. Hopefully they are just about gone for good by now.

Happened today. Level 18, about 30 hours in. Now all of my saves from today and yesterday are corrupted. They cause the game to crash 2 seconds after I choose the game to load.

Legally purchased via Steam, no mods, no hacks, no cracks.

If you’re on a console I seriously doubt you’ll have to worry about your save file getting corrupted UNLESS you turn your game off while it’s saving or your power goes out while saving. I’m sure that there is a slight chance it could up and just commit file suicide but very slight. As for computer… I don’t know. Don’t play on one so I don’t know when and why a save file corruption would happen.

3 random corrupts on ps3 here. Luckily I made multiple saves so no major harm done.

isnt it mostly just on the ps3 because of that "bloated save file" problem?

figures only the ps3 version has it... goes to show you they didnt spend very long testing the ps3 version.

really svcks, because other than that "bloated save file" problem, causing the game to start lagging a tiny bit around 5mb, and becoming noticably laggy and freezing alot around 8mb or so ...which surprisingly doesnt take that much time to go from 5mb to 8mb in file size, atleast on ps3... i havent noticed any other problems with the game.

before my file reached 8mb, it ran perfectly... no freezes or anything.

i heard if ya go on too long with a bloated save, it'll corrupt... so i decided to stop playing altogether until bethesda fixes it.

...im dying to play skyrim again, so that better be [censored] soon.

I got one on PC yesterday. I was in the Dwemer ruins under Markath and my sound suddenly went all weird and then the game crashed. Couldn't reload the last Auto-save no matter what.

Doesn't mean it was corrupt. You probably got stuck in a glitched elevator. I've encountered one of those in Blackreach. ...Unless you mean you couldn't load any previous saves and not just auto-saves (because the glitch makes a bunch of auto-saves).

Save game bloating is present on the PC version no doubt. And without the CK, we can't use a bash program yet, or cleaners, or anything that fixes it.

My saves are at 8k at the moment..and rising. I have an idea what's causing, but no way of getting rid of it..
