Making a follower truly immortal

Post » Sat Dec 10, 2011 5:09 am

I'm tired of one-shotting my followers with aoe. Is there a way to make them unkillable, the way essential NPCs worked in Oblivion?

I know there are unkillable NPCs in Skyrim, but I haven't been able to find out how to make my own followers like that.

I don't think it's possible. Maybe take their melee weapon away and have them only use a bow? or find a mage follower. They won't get in the way then.

Enchant gear with 100% resistance to the element your casting and give it to them.

Get a goat.

Sling said goat over your shoulder.

Sprint past a giant camp, VERY QUICKLY.

Congratulations, you found a new companion.

Actually Dead Thrall Spell is a way to make them truly immortal with out exploiting anything but you lose functionality then as you can only trade Weapons with thralls.

Well followers level depends on what level you were when you got them, so if you got lydia at level 5, its time to ditch her. They must be really weak with crap armor for you to one hit them with aoe.

The DB initiates are invincible companions at the end of the DB questline. They don't die when on the floor like other companions.

My companions don't die on master difficulty with two hits from my 518 damage daedric swords, and I doubt your aoe damage is anywhere near that tbh. But I restarted the game because that was to easy, took the fun out of it.

Oh my god, you win. That's the greatest idea I've ever heard. Might want to use the Whirlwind Sprint shout though.

Thanks for the replies. I'll see what can be done to minimize the chance for them to get in the way - and the resist gear is a great idea, thank you.

I just got Aeblehblehbleh.. .the chick from the Azura Shrine. She's good and all, but one hit from Incinerate/Thunderbolt turns her into mush... and I haven't leveled since I first met her (level 38).
