MO New Installer Testing

Post » Sat Dec 10, 2011 1:55 pm

As you may know, I'm working on the 2.0 version of Morrowind Overhaul Sounds & Graphics, that will have an automated installer to avoid any possible problem during the installation process.
Now, since it's pretty complex, I need some testers for it. I already have a guy of the MO Team that is doing some tests, but because of the large number of possibilities he can't test all the possible combinations.
With this thread I'm searching some serious testers that want to help and test carefully the installer.
If you want to help post here and I'll send you the installer plus the pack with a PM.

Requirements:

The desire to help me :D

Combinations:
The installer has many cominations to fit with almost "every" computer.
Here's a quick map of them:

Thank you all!

Well my PC's only a few months old so would fit into the good or very good category (stats fans: i7 2600K @ 3.4 jiggyhurts, 8 jiggybits of memory, GTX 570). I'd be happy to help out.

One thing though, you have "auto defrag of Morrowind folder" as the last step. Please don't do this, that wouldn't play nice with my SSD, so please have an option to skip this.

Thank you very much for the offer!
Yeah sure, defrag can be skipped with no problems ;)
There is even an advice for SSD users:

I'd be interested in doing some testing on this, since it is the main thing I was holding out for before I came back to good 'ol Morrowind. My system isn't top of the lines, but it is also not hot garage either, so it would be a good middle ground testing machine, I think.

I'd love to get in on this. I have two intel SSDs in RAID0, GTX285, Core i3, 8gb of ram.

Wow, awesome!
So many testers here. I'm fixing some little errors I discovered in the installer and then we'll be ready to test! :foodndrink:

I could test the slow setting if you like, I have a Macbook running bootcamp Windows 7, 2.24 ghz core 2 duo, 9400m, 2 gigs ram, running the steam version of morrowind, (though I have never been able to use mge with it)
