I was hoping Alduin, at the least had lightning breath...but pretty much all dragons have either ice or fire only. Nothing interesting, they don't even get to use player shouts.

There isn't a lightning breath shout is there? So why would they have lightning breath?

Dragontongue doesn't have a word for "lightning," "thunder," or "electricity."

Remember; a dragon's breath weapon is really just them Shouting. They aren't trying to kill you; They are just yelling at you for trespassing. Being burnt to a crisp is just a side-effect of their powerful language.

storm call cuases lightning to strike at your foes and none of the dragons use this which shocked me and id rather have had the lightning breath than storm call takes like 300 seconds to recharge

Because it's so damn powerful. If you use Marked for death and then storm call it practically wipes dragons out by itself.

That being said, Alduin DOES use a variant of storm call when you fight him, he causes a meteor shower.

Such as?

I have yet to encounter an NPC that can use a shout that the player can not. In fact, it would seem the player has many more shouts than the NPCs can use.

Well there's Alduin's meteor shout but that's all I can really think of.

The Graybeards use various shouts that are not learn-able, although these shouts wouldn't be useful to the player anyway.

There's only a few. Spectral clone, open gate, meteor storm, resurrect dragon, fog barrier afaik.

Meh, seeing lightning coming out of a dragon's mouth would look poor anyway. I'm glad they stuck with fire and frost breath.

I would like to see a dragon use Unrelenting Force though. It would be lolworthy to see how far they could throw the PC with it.

I'm more disappointed that they did not get all that creative with dragon abilities. I was hoping there would be at least one "brawler" type dragon, who would prefer landing, and speed blitzing the player with whirlwind sprint and elemental fury...preferring to utilize its brute strength and close combat prowess over fighting from far. Stuff that could shake up our strategies.

All they would do is call a storm and fly around.

I could be wrong, but I think I have encountered a few dragons that use different shouts. One guy used frost and then fire. Another used fire and then turned towards my companion and staggered him back with a shout that did no damage and sounded like FUS.. That last incident has happened several times now..

EDIT: and quite a lot of the shouts would just be stupid to use for a dragon. Just because they exist doesn't mean it fits how they operate. U don't put a grenade launcher, bayonet or stung gun on an F16 because they wouldn't do much good for fly by tactics..

Maybe it's only at higher levels that they start using alternate shouts then, I've never taken a character past lv30 yet lol.

If they do use other shouts that would totally bring some extra joy into hunting them :D
