BlackReach(Wow, just wow!)

Post » Sat Dec 10, 2011 7:26 pm

"Wow" is right. "WoW" to be more precise. That's where I think I've seen giant mushrooms before, in a place called Zangarmarsh.

If I could, I think I'd slap you. Morrowind, The Elder Scrills III came out on May 2nd, 2002. World of Warcraft came out on November 23, 2004. Know how I know? I was alive for both of them, and I know how to use Google. Took me 30 seconds to find an exact date. Morrowind did giant mushrooms more than two years before WoW, which is a massively inferior game anyway. Your welcome, for the schooling. =)

Oh, no I wasn't worried about fighting it. I generally let any peaceful creature live, It's just that I though it was a glitch, as it looked horribly out of place. Perhaps it was lost?

Lost? That'd be one HELL of a wrong turn. Lol

Get out please. Morrowind was full of giant mushroom landscapes long before that trash of a game.
Not to mention giant mushroom landscapes have been mentioned in fantasy literature well before even that.

If you thought Blackreach was cool already, cast a fully charged (as in all three words unlocked) Unrelenting Force shout and the giant glowing orb hanging from the ceiling in the town with the Falmer and Thralls.

As I remember, Labrynthian was just an average nordic dungeon... Where did you go that it was as big as Blackreach?

There are three indoor areas in Labirinthian.
Thats easy to miss, and then if you think there is only one, youd think its smaller than it is :)

Blackreach is an absolutely amazing place, I've been down there so many times but every time I come back I always seem to find something new, and I can't seem to spend too long away from that amazing place, I make a trip there every day and spend about 20 to 40 minutes exploring, I recently found the Geode veins which give you Soul Gems, I love that place.

I'll guess I'll have to go back, then. I just followed the path straight to the dragon priest with the Staff of Magnus, never noticed any other areas.

Blackreach got annoying for me becuase of the hours spent trying to look for noisy Crimson Ninroot. But besides that the place was awesome, I mean it's got Giants, Centrions, Exiled cult and mysterious ruins :)
Also the payoff on the Crimson Ninroot quest was pretty awesome.

I haven't found this place yet, but it sounds awesome! I'm definitely playing through the main quest when I get home from work!

Blackreach...*sigh*

So far I enjoyed every single dungeon in Skyrim. Almost every one of them has something speical to it,
like a unique quest or impressive visual design or creepy atmosphere...

And the Dwemer dungeons are my favorites. In Morrowind they were kind of boring
and not very believable. I never had the feeling that places like Red Mountain were
places were Dwemer actually lived and studied...

Not so in Skyrim. Here the Dwemer ruins really feel like they had once been the HOMES
to the Dwemer, not only there workplaces.

And Blackreach? It is the pinnacle of it all...I was speechless when I wandered through this giant cave.
I spent hours there, exploring as much as I could. I left that harmless giant be...but had an epic battle
with a wisp-mother...and the Falmer always give me the creeps...

With this dungeon Bethesda has redeemed themselves for every boring generic dungeon they
haunted me with in Oblivion...Blackreach ist just so beautiful, beautiful and dangerous...

The Flamer creepy me out as well and they remind me of Golum from Lord of the Rings, the Chaurus centipede things give the creeps too they are the reason I rushed through Blackreach, one ran up to me and scareed the crap out of me and I said I'm getting out of here the Falmer and Chaurus are freaking me out! Blackreach did look awesome though.

It would be cool if their was a mod that adds an excavation guild and at the end they fix up Blackreach and turn it into a nice town..

An area in Skyrim that resembles a region from Morrowind?

I must find this place.

Great place indeed, especially with a FXAA mod to change the gamma/color, wow it's creepy and those falmers are hard to see in the dark, disabling the mod and that place is.... different.

Unfortunately i came across a bug i think, i cannot turn back the crimson Nirnroot quest, i got 32 and the quest marker is on her, i tried every dialogue option.

Screenshot with the mod, look how light sources reflect the matched color on the surfaces.
