Best way to level Light/Heavy armor?

Post » Sun Dec 11, 2011 7:06 am

So, what do you guys think is a good way to train light/heavy armor?

I've tried to camp at a place and heal myself with magic, but it just doesn't add up. How do you guys powerlevel these skills?

Edit: Noticed I posted in the wrong section, ignore it.

As far as I know just wear the type of armour you want to level.

Find a mudcrab. Let it beat you up. Armor goes up.

Yeah training those on master can get very annoying as my strategy revolves around not getting hit in the first place.

Use the skill trainers. Although they have a cap of training 5 skills per level

I never really powerlevel, I just play the game.

But. The best thing I can tell you is choose one to train, and wear only that kind of armor while taking damage.

Yeah, but it takes so much time to level up if you just go kill beasts and bandits. I'm level 40 and have like 70 Light armor.

That's the way to go. And it's quite fast imo. I got from light armor 90 to 100 this way in a single dungeon, just by stopping now and then and let the draugr whack away untill the skill leveld up. Doesn't take long at all.

Good thing we removed athletics and acrobatics so abusive leveling is gone! /sarcasm

So basically Draugr = the way to go?

I'm not going to do the mudcrab trick I used in Oblivion. I'm just going to wear the armor and let them advance normally. They wont get maxed I think with my mage because I dont want anything to hit me much and when they do if they do its often fatal for me!

Boy some of those enemies with the bit dual swords can kill me fast when they get close enough to hit me

This.

With the added awesomeness of no armour health, this becomes insanely overpowered.

Anything that hits hard and fast. Dual-wielding forsworn are good, enemies with swords and maybe axes. Wildlife depending on your level. And of course you need to be able to outheal the damage.

the problem is not the "horrible game design" but that some of you seem to not understand its most important principle

if you get hit, your armor rating increases because obviously its important to you

if you dont get hit often your armor rating doesnt increase much because obviously you dont need excess armor

so why would you artificially increase a skill which you obviously dont need to that extent? the game itself and how you play it will automatically dictate which skills will increase - if you dont understand and live by this most important and basic principle of the game, than im not wondering about all the UUUUUUUUUU SMITHING IS SO OP AFTER I MADE 24'952 IRON DAGGERS AND NOW THE GAME svckS threads....just :banghead:

Is the armor skill raised by amount of times hit, or amount of damage done to you?

why if you obviously dont need them?

it's the same with let's say 2handed...why would you level 2handed if you dont use a 2handed weapon? if you dont get hit often you obviously dont need a high armor skill, if you would get hit often the skill would increase and get higher - this is perfectly balanced - what you do makes no sense
