Any way to sneak silently in heavy armor?

Is there? :) Because heavy armor looks much cooler than light armor. Kinda stupid reason, but still. :celebration:

Additional note: How exactly does muffle work? It says you move MORE quietly; how effective is it?

Not really. Even with perks, light armor is always more silent than all of that clanking metal.

If I remember correctly, the ebony mail is really good for sneaking in heavy armor. And it looks awesome.

It also has this cool shadow tentacle effect when you crouch.

There's a perk at 30 where you can move 50% more silent in armour.

I dunno how effect muffle is but I can say that sneaking in heavy armor is not that hard. I've recently made a H2H character who is in all heavy armor and I was surprised how effective I still was at sneaking. Even with no perks into sneaking or buffs at all I had little issue from wide open areas as well as the close quarter corners of dungeon diving. Yes, it is a bit more challenging than light armor but you also have to remember that equipment weight is not the only factor that determines how successful a stealth artist you are. How fast you are moving, lighting, and line of sight are all determining factors.

When sneaking in heavy armor always remember:
-Your armor only makes noise when you move. No movement = no noise no matter how heavy or light your load out is.
-Moving as slow as possible reduces the chances of being detected. A little bit of patience can go a LONG way when sneaking in heavy armor.
-The terrain is your best alley. If there is a rock or a pillar that can break the line of sight, use it. The direct path is not always the best one. Stay close to the walls, take down torches and keep in the shadows as much as possible.
-Companions make excellent decoys some times. Hiding in a dark corner and then telling your alley to run to the other side of the room can not only draw out enemies into your line of fire but if you are well hidden enough when your alley Leeroy's it up you can get in a few sneak attacks before they catch on to you.

Now I most am an archer so sneaking for the purpose of getting the shot is mostly what I'm talking about. Getting in dagger range might be a different task and much more difficult but there have been a few dungeons where I turned a corner into a room of bandits no more than a few feet from me but I've never tried to close that gap without getting a shot or two off.
