Disarm and loosing your weapon

Post » Sun Dec 11, 2011 1:13 am

Is there any way to keep track of your weapon when you get disarmed? When dual-wielding it seems that after being disarmed, one weapon goes back into your inventory and the other gets dropped.

I've had it happen a few times now that after I get disarmed, my dropped weapon is just gone. I've searched all over for it on the floor, behind things, moved corpses, etc before giving up and reloading. I suspect it's falling between cracks in the floor or wall or ceiling... but the end effect is the same, either re-smith and re-enchant a new one or reload.

I usually find it just below me. I'm actually surprised it doesn't go flying.

I’ve lost a weapon before from being disarmed by an Overlord, it was a glass sword of fire so I was kinda pissed. I’m pretty sure it’s just random when it happens.

Losing*

You lose things, you don't loose things.

Loosing (which isn't actually a word) looks like loosening which means to make something less tight. I don't mean to be a grammar Nazi, but I have been seeing far too much of that in the media lately and it's starting to worry me. Nothing personal. :)

Anyways, I haven't had that problem as I don't dual-wield weapons. You're positive they aren't in your inventory? It might just be a horrible bug for the time being.

Yes, I mis-spelled the topic - should have been losing.

But now I get to nit-pick the nit-picker :) Loosing is actually a word, it means "to release", or "to set free" - which is oddly appropiate since this appears to be what disarming is actually doing.

Back on topic:
The weapon is not in my inventory, sometimes it's on the floor at my feet, other times I have found it across the room, or in a seam in the floor. Once in a while it seems to vanish entirely. I am not sure if it's a bug or just an issue with the way items fly around sometimes, but it is annoying!

I've only been disarmed once while dual wielding, and it took me a long time to find my second weapon. I suppose it's possible it glitched through the world, but it's almost always possible to find it.

Yup, this happeed to me and I just put it in the issues forum under 360. Nice to know Im not alone.

Lost my skyforge steel sword, that I favoured for its power for a lightish one hander. It was knocked out of my hand once and then again not too long after, to loose it and never find it again. Auto saves went too far back to bother with. I beleive this was during the final stage of forbidden legend when I was fighting the 3 brothers.

My second sword was an Ebony one, sadly enough. I had only just lost my skyforge sword an hour ago and I lost this aswell. Luckily I have a second Ebony sword, but now Im afraid to take it out anywhere incase I lose this one too.

This needs to be fixed, honestly. Make it glow on the floor, or maybe it got shouted so far away it wasn't in the room, and I wasn't going to check the entire dungeon for it. Maybe all of them should just be put back in your inventory like you said one of yours was, and just make sure you cannot re-equipt it for, say, 15 seconds (outside of menus) so that it continues to have some sort of effect on the fight.
