*HELP* Shadows from artificial light sources dont render

Post » Sun Dec 11, 2011 6:42 am

I am having a fairly unique problem with Crysis 2. I am running the game at 1920x1080 on my GTX 460 with the 270.61 drivers (please note, I have tested this issue with the 266 release drivers as well as the 275.27 beta's. I have NOT tried the 275.33's because of their known issues with Crysis 2).

For some reason, shadows from artificial light sources (lamps, various lights, etc) are NOT rendering at all. Here is an example. This seems to happen MOST frequently on night-time levels (obviously since there is not much natural light i.e. no sun).

Anyhow, this is a screenshot taken from the level at grand central station. Notice how the people on the left and right do NOT cast shadows on the ground underneath them?

Also, here is another screenshot. Notice how the soldier does not cast a shadow on the ground behind him? Also for some reason, the shadows caused by the light behind the bars off in the distance renders in this shot, but NOT in the other.

Here is a comparison screenshot, taken from this thread at InCrysis (http://www.incrysis.com/forums/viewtopic.php?id=33448). Please read through it as I am having the same problem and would like to have it fixed. I am NOT using a custom config. Just in-game settings. I have tried setting everything on Extreme and the shadows are STILL NOT RENDERED!?!!?

Please help.
