So I did the companions quest line and the marriage option for Aela doesn't come up?

Are you wearing the Amulet of Mara, and have you completed all the Radiant Quests she hands out?

Besides, you would still have to talk to the priest of Mara in Riften to unlock the marriage options + obtaining the Amulet of Mara

I have the amulet of Mara that I obtained from doing the quests in the Temple of Mara. I have not done all of her Radiant quests, working on those now.

I thought she never ran out of radiant quests. Same thing every time? 'Go to this place, kill some wolves/bears/etc'

Thinking about it, its probably because I havent spoken to Maramal yet... But he's never at the temple of Mara.

He's either at the inn or the temple and yes, you only need to talk to him and exhaust his conversations of marriage then you should be able to ask Aela.

I've not met all the available ladies of Skyrim yet, but I don't need to. Aela's the one for me. There's just something about her*.

*I don't fall in love with video game characters, either.

You need to unlock the option for Marriage first, by going to Riften's temple, only then can you ask people to marry you. Also, complete Companions quest line, blah blah
