In Whiterun, the store Warmaidens is permanately locked! No matter what hour of the day it is! Help!

Go into a building, wait one hour and if it's between 8am and 8pm, it will open.

I figured that the blacksmith woman is inside some time of the day when she isn't outside.

Try killing her and taking her key.... Oh wait, she is probably essential like most NPCs.

If you are using wait to pass game time, you will have to look away from the door then back for the game to open the door as normal.

yep look away and then wait til about 9am then if its still locked wait 1hr then look back at door there seems to be a lag behind issue with waiting many hours at a time

NPC's don't move while you wait, and they have to open the store. After you wait, they have to make their way to the store. They also might be stuck getting to the store.

I fixed it. I just traveled somewhere and then traveled back to Whiterun.

They do in my game, at least sometimes. Anyway, that should be fixed, it makes everything a bit less realistic.

I thought the woman who ran it was outside by the forge all the time.

I have noticed Warmaidens has some pretty bad hours. Lazy jerks.

Are you waiting in front of it? If so I found if you are always facing it, it will remain locked. If it's like 11 am or so, turn away, and turn back it will be unlocked. I discovered that by accident.

It's always been open when I've paid a visit.

Maybe they just don't like you...

Same thing happens to me. Two things that usually fix this for are:
1. Pick the lock, go back outside, wait 1 hour, go back inside and there should be the merchant.
2. Go into another building, such as the inn, wait until 8am and go back to Warmaidens to see if it's open.

If you are waiting in front of the door, just make sure your cross hair isn't on the door. If it is left on the door, the status of locked unlock doesn't update.

Well you know, there's a recession going on. And also dragons, civil war, bandits, etc all threatening the city and such.

Weird, from what I've seen they're the first to open. At least the chick is by the forge as early as 6-7AM.

It's husband and wife lol, how did you not know that?! Seriously, that is how she greets me every time. "Have you met my father up in Dragonsreach..." (the guy you buy Breezehome from) or "I don't pretend to be the best smith in Whiterun, that right belongs to..."
