You know what this game needs...?

Post » Sun Dec 11, 2011 3:19 pm

...the answer is not more cowbell. But I was feeling this game needs sea beasts, both big and small. Mudcrabs and Slaughterfish don't cut it for me. I swim a lot, I explore the depths and I feel the waters are fairly barren. I have found a few things but nothing noteworthy. To make underwater travels more interesting it would be nice to have a variety of water life, perhaps some giant underwater monsters or some rare ones in deeper parts. How do you feel on this issue?

I feel you underestimated my eyesight when writing your post.

Second... sure it'd be nice, but I'd rather they spent their limited time and budget on things I would see more often. A Black Marsh game is probably more suited to this and besides, I was impressed enough seeing salmon jump up waterfalls... step up from oblivion no?

or anything else you can think of. Maybe even some creatures Bethesda creates themselves.

Swimming in deep water terrifies me enough already. Worrying about sea monsters will just make me avoid Skyrim's coast altogether.

I don't want to spoil anything, but thus far I've found a few spots in the game with really deep water which was quite empty. A giant sea creature of some sort would fill that void or at least some underwater wreckage to explore.

I wanted these before, but I didn't realize that I can't even attack the slaughterfish biting me! You automatically scabbard your weapon when entering the water, so you can't even fight back. So as it is, I don't mind if there's nothing in the water to attack me.

It would be nice if they re-introduced underwater combat. Then the inclusion of such things wouldn't hinder gameplay as much for those exploring the depths.

The fact that you started off your post with a "more cowbell" reference gives your point that much more credibility.

I totally wouldn't be against this, but I feel it'd be a waste unless there was more reason to go into the water.

I would only want more sea creatures if they patch it so you can fight underwater. Having Slaughterfish seems pointless since you can't attack while underwater, making it damn near impossible to kill them anyway.

*Snippity-snip* I was impressed enough seeing salmon jump up waterfalls... step up from oblivion no?

I was amazed the first time I saw this. Honestly, I swim alot but don't care that the waters are rather barren. I see water as more of a set piece. It's there to look amazing and add to the mood or atmosphere of an interior or exterior area. They certainly improved it enough since Oblivion to satisfy my. Perhaps it can be more of a focus in the next TES game, but it's perfectly fine to me in this one.

If underwater combat was brought back, then I am definitely behind more underwater creatures! But I don't like the idea of things attacking me when I'm not able to fight back. But even then, more passive creatures would still be cool.

Actually more cowbell would be nice. I've yet to see a farm cow with a bell around it's neck.
