Dark Brotherhood, good or bad? Please give your reason why.

Your poll and your thread title are at odds.

Good/Bad and Correct/Not Correct are not the same concepts.

I think the DB are bad, but correct!

There were a few who didn't deserve to be killed in Oblivion though, which kind of cancels out all the good from killing the bad guys.

I said they were either amoral or immoral, not that they were good in the moral sense.

(fixed important typo)

What the basis of the Dark Brotherhood stands for is rather 'bad': Fun, dark worship and profit. To even contact them requires a deed most foul. It's the client and their rational that defines what the Dark Brotherhood is.

Innocence is an illusion

gain no pleasure or regret from killing who the Night Mother tells the Listener to kill
however I wish I would of listened to my wraith and would of spared the keeper

im not answering the poll because if ur talking about the DB when u FIRST join up with them, then no they are not correct in the way that they arent even the dark brotherhood but a gang of assassins that are using the name as publicity, now at the end of the questline then yes they are actually DB when they start following the guidlines/rules/way of things.

tbh thier hits, it dosent matter to them ifth eperson is scu or a pious person, its all about the kill. So wether they do any good or harm, they dont care it was just a job....a fun job.

I edited the poll and deleted posts referring to real life assassins. Let's stick with the morals (or no morals) of the DB as they exist in the game.

i cant believe my post got deleted lol
it was only a joke and to liven things up here abit :hubbahubba:

i guess no one has a sense of humour anymore

They're not even mere assasin's for hire with no ethics - they're cultists who worship non-existance, Sithis, and would (if they could) end all creation in his name.

The only way they could be less good would be if they were to serve puppies in the canteen

I don't get it.... The DB kill people who are usually [censored]s and pricks who need to be put down. I say they are good... For example look at that ass who ran the orphanage. [censored] had it coming.

I love them but I cant see how anyone would consider them "good guys".

You see, in MOST the Western world (America the exception), killing people who've done bad things is not considered "justice" nor the right thing to do... but I can understand why you might be confused by this concept.

from my moral standpoint, bad.. from my assassin's viewpoint, an easier way to accomplish what he loves to do.

My character started all "goody-2-shoes".. :blush2: Picking mountain flowers and helping run errands for strangers. Thats what I always do in every friggin' game.
I killed that (Old Angry Orphan Brawd) in Riften because the little boy said she was a [censored]. The kids at the orphanage said so too. They hated her, and even her niece/daughter knew she needed an arrow to the head as well.
"So I did".
I didn't like the deed but I did it in stealth (Hidden) and didn't get caught??!..
It was so adorable that the kid gave me a silver plate for payment. I actually felt like that old Hag had it coming.
Murder seemed justified.
So when I was given the choice from Astrid, I went for it feeling sick to my stomach over what I did to Join....
"But then I met the Brotherhood"
They are as normal as the GOOD people of Skyrim, and have ambitions like all the other factions. They actually have the best dialouge to me.
Each contract given to me I did the same thing "kill while hidden or turn into a beast to kill so they don't know who you are". "I haven't got caught".
Until well, you know.
Each kill to me seems like I'm doing a favor for the person paying. I totally hate bumping off these people but the atmosphere this game gives. B)
"An assassin is needed in Skyrim"..
My Character is honestly good in every way around Skyrim.
But he is now the leader of the Brotherhood and has contracts to be completed.
I look at my character as the Punisher or Hitman or C.J., Niko or Tony from Grand Theft Auto..
Good guys that have to kill to help others..
Talking to the Night Mother is embarrassing as hell and I get a laugh listening to her. And the Brotherhood Hide-Out is also a comedy..
"But I Dig the Brotherhood." Its good money, you get a sweet RYDE, and the outfit From them ain't to shabby... :goodjob:
"And I'm still picking mountain flowers and running errands for strangers"....
